  1. Not well at all! 6 TURNOVERS!!! On the bright side, the defense didn't allow a single TD - so that was good at least! Sorry about Keller, Paul. I've never heard of anyone tearing the ACL, MCL AND PCL all at the same time. Tough loss.
  2. Yes, he appears in all of the songs that were filmed at that location. Was watching the DVD the other night and thought about this discussion when the dog appeared. Just wondering...
  3. Was the dog in the P/P No Quarter DVD Robert's? That was a Merle also, correct?
  4. Kiss Now Have Their Own Pro Football Team by Matthew Wilkening August 16, 2013 6:53 AM Getty Images / Arena Football League Kiss founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are now among the owners of a professional football team, which will be called the LA Kiss and will use the band’s famous logo on their helmets. We can only imagine what the uniforms are going to look like. This does not represent the long-awaited return of the National Football League to Los Angeles. Instead, the team will be part of the Arena Football League, which for the last 26 years has provided an indoor, summer-scheduled version of America’s favorite sport. The league’s smaller field results in a faster pace of play and higher scoring games. “The whole idea of an alternative to what has perhaps become a corporate sport is very intriguing, and resonates with us,” Stanley explained to USA Today. “We’ve always tried to be a band that relates to everybody, and the AFL is built on that whole premise.” The LA Kiss will start playing at the Honda Arena in Anaheim in March of 2014. Season ticket holders will be treated to a free Kiss concert at some point next year, and Simmons says the band will bring their unique brand of showmanship to the games themselves as well. “It’s exciting beyond anything that we’ve thought about before… it’s going to be that kind of in-your-face entertainment, whether you’re a football fan or not.” Once you get past the typical “what are they selling now?” response to this latest Kiss co-branding venture, the deal actually makes a lot of sense. The band has tens of thousands of fans in every city in America. If this works right, every road game will be at least partially a home game, with new fans attending the event decked out in what’s sure to be a parade of Kiss-themed sporting gear. At a certain point, you just have to applaud the absurdity of it all, right?
  5. Don't forget the Domino's pizza!
  6. Geezer Butler Has a Feeling This Could Be Black Sabbath’s Last Tour by Jeff Giles August 15, 2013 10:17 AM Theo Wargo, Getty Images Snap up those tickets where you can find them, Black Sabbath fans! If Geezer Butler‘s hunch is right, this is your last chance to see the band on tour. “I’ve always said as long as I can play, as long as I can do it to a good level, then I’ll keep doing it, because I still really enjoy playing,” Butler told the Chicago Sun-Times. ”I’ll know when the day comes I can’t do this anymore, can’t play to my usual standards. That’s when I won’t go out anymore. I won’t do that to me self. But at the moment, I just love playing with the band. It probably will be the last time, will probably be the last tour. But I want to go out on a high. The band is playing really well at the moment.” Pressed to explain his remarks, Butler added, “I don’t know. I just got a feeling. It’s getting tough, it really is. I can’t lie about that. I’m old now. It really is tough going on every night. You wake up next day, all the pains you never had before. I don’t want to go onstage for the sake of the money. You have to have a lot pride in yourself, and I honestly think I’m coming to the end of the top of my job.” In the meantime, Sabbath’s touring commitments should see them on the road through the end of the year. But if the high grosses they’ve been reporting to Pollstar continue, they may find it difficult to stop adding dates, no matter how many pains Butler has.
  7. ...and that the Eagles (Henley and Frey) say they were the harder partying band than Zeppelin back in the 70's.
  8. ^ Ditto! I don't drink soda much at all anymore - except for when I have shots of Kraken rum (coke chaser). If I have popcorn at the movies, I have to have a coke with that, but it's a rare occasion. I still put splenda in my coffee, but have been thinking about switching to what redrum was talking about. As was said before, try to keep moderation and check those labels. Same with salt. I usually try to buy low sodium ingredients - but then they are usually higher in fats. You just can't win in this modern age of processed foods!
  9. I heard/read they were initially practicing BIGLY for the '77 tour.
  10. The Fame Monster ~ Lady Gaga
  11. Going to my son's "Back To School Picnic", then taking in the new Percy Jackson movie and following that with pizza out with the family. Should be a good day!
  12. I don't know if it's just me but it seems like there's a lot more ACL tears and injuries in general this year, this early.
  13. You know me....I'll be recording it for sure! I don't watch much of the preseason, but when it comes to my 'boys I don't miss a down! Plus I like to watch the progression of the rookies and other guys I've been reading about. Anybody watching Hard Knocks, with the Bengals, on HBO?
  14. I think you are giving the Packers too much credit. They are hurting in many positions right now. The Vikings are gonna be very tough this year, even with a sub-par qb, IMO.

    Golf Talk

Looking forward to watching the tournament later today. Rick, your area has the PGA Championship and also the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen going on this weekend. Must be tough to find a hotel room in the finger lakes area! A couple of picks I've been thinking about....Jason Day, Hunter Mahan and Justin Rose. This is a US Open type course, so guys that do well in those conditions should do well this weekend. Hoping Rickie Fowler puts together a good tournament.
  16. Yeah, CBS bitches. You know from the tv series Big Bang Theory and Two Broke Girls that you obsess over.
