  1. He was truly a great man, person, and leader. Crazy to hear of something like that happening there. Just terrible. God bless him and his family.
  2. As I said. Bush also used that term, and was the first to coin it, we could also point out that the term in general means what is stated below. As you and the right wing media can pick/point out, we can all easily go back to Bush’s speach when he first brought it up. My point is, it is easy to misunderstand what someone means by a easily picked/clipped reaction and statement. If some want to believe that there is a minions/Gru scenario going on, have at it. The liberal world order established after World War II simply means countries follow a rules-based international order, and don't get to invade neighboring countries, breaking international law or committing war crimes. A strange thing to be against, imho.
  3. You Sir are one of the other members that I consistently have gone back to read your thoughts and posts. Your concert timeline should and could easily be a book that I would read, and reread several times. I may have told you that I and my wife went through your 77 tour together and were absolutely blown away. And I had already read it several times. To you Strider, I say thank you for all of your contributions as well. This place would not be what it is without you as well. And I’m sorry to derail this thread. But certainly I would like to show my appreciation for your thoughts, time, and efforts. Also, random thought. Make your 72,73,75,and 77 concert diaries into a book. Hell, they can even be in short story form. But they are fantastic. I have read a great portion of all the books written about this great/best band ever, your recollections are truly at the top of the list. Thank you.
  4. Alright. He does indeed do that. Honestly I may have had a whiskey when I first read your post and may have not truly understood it. I’ll be the first to admit I can jump to conclusions. And as I said earlier, your contributions, and thoughts, as well as your knowledge on this band and many other things are truly a benefit to us all. There are a couple of members that I look at on this forum and like to read and try and go back and see what their thoughts on any number of specific topics are, and you are absolutely at the top of the list. To be honest this forum without you on it would not be what it is. Not that you care, but I know I as well as many others respect and look forward to your thoughts on any number of subjects. If I miss understood your post, and or thoughts I do apologize for making anything more then it needed to be Steve. Have a great night/day.
  5. About the masks alone in a car, or alone walking down the street. If I’m not mistaken you once said that is like jacking off with a rubber. I could swear that I read that from you on this thread somewhere. And laughed my ass off. That is a perfect description for sure.
  6. You know, a fun fact, is George W.H. Bush coined the phrase New World Order in 1991. He was the first president, and politician to actually use that term. I’ve personally never put much stock in it either way. As a matter of fact, I highly doubt that there is this deep dark liberal army trying to create a World Order. Those seem like twisted right wing radio/news outlets from guys/gals talking shit and trying the extreme right wing scare tactics that they are incredibly good at. Like the whole guns being taken away thing for the last 25 years, and a host of other crazy ideas. What is scary, and has been written about in several publications is the extreme right moving towards an authoritarian rule. And there is a lot of validity in that. There is a large portion of the extreme right that doesn’t want anyone in the left to have any say in anything at all. The evidence is as plain as day and can be easily looked up. The problem as I see it is that there is a group of people who can’t stand another group as they have different thoughts, ideas, and beliefs from them. Rather than realizing that it is better to work together and try and achieve/accomplish goals for all Americans, they want to only benefit themselves and those in their circle. And that is on both sides. I have said this countless times on this forum, if you are only open to one way of thinking, and not capable of looking at it from another’s perspective and respecting that other person’s perspective while disagreeing, then there can absolutely be nothing done for any of us. There are extreme groups in and on both sides no doubt. I happen to think it is far worse coming from the extreme right, I’m sure you do from the extreme left, or just the left. The problem is, that most of us get forgotten about. Anyone on this forum or in life that defends Putin, or anyone of his ilk is just misinformed and not open to information. Being a registered Independent and trying to not vote upon party lines has certainly opened up my way of thinking and understanding. Having said that, I get the tribal mentality and way of thinking as everyone wants to be part of a group, and groups usually want to vilify someone or another group. How about we all try and hear each other, and maybe open ourselves up to one another. Most importantly, I feel we are absolutely watching this country split apart and it has progressed profoundly under the last administration. Now doubt. As a country we only succeed as in anything when we are United and trying to work together. If we continuously only admonish those we don’t agree with everything on we are not going to be capable of success and growth as a nation. I often think of the generation of WW2, there were certainly people who didn’t agree with one another, but the division we have now is just out of control.
  7. Hello, Not to be argumentative. But Jimmy’s fascination with Crowley is really no more disturbing than my fascination with Jimmy, and the band. It was and may still be something that he is passionate about. I personally don’t know enough about Crowley to call him a fraud. I have read about him not only because of Jimmy but other’s interest in him. Crowley may have been a bit ahead of his time. I certainly know that most if not all Zep fans do not subscribe to any curse or anything that is remotely close to that. The bands ending was a product of the band and it’s members succumbing to the traps of life. They are after all just like you and I. They just happen to be spectacular, and perhaps even genius, and true artist. And to me that word Artist gets thrown around far to often. But In my humble opinion they are all uniquely talented and head and shoulders above their contemporaries. Sorry to ramble, but Jimmy and his personal beliefs has nothing to do with how I feel about him, or how I perceive him to be. I could read about him until I am blue in the face, and I have tried that. But most of what we know comes second to way beyond second hand. I try and enjoy them for what they have given us as zeppelin fans. And to even be more blunt, I could not possibly bother myself with what their personal beliefs are. They were amazing. So for me it ends there. Cheers. Have a great day.
  8. Geno, that’s a really ridiculous statement. I am married. I been having bitches. You clearly are a keyboard warrior. With absolutely no bitches as you say. I’ve posted pictures of what I look like. Why don’t you be brave and show us who you are. Either way, have a great night simple.
  9. I suppose you know what everyone goes through in making that choice. I will say Rodrigo that you have always been nothing more that a simpleton on this forum. Someone who wants to join the fight when others have already done the fighting. You can continue to be the scared little boy/man who can’t stand up for himself and joins the fight from the outside. Don’t try and be a tough guy and post something provocative because you think it’s cool. Think for yourself young man.
  10. It truly is a random thought. Like your opinion matters, so does mine. And I find it very distasteful to put it on this forum. You are certainly entitled to your thoughts and feelings. I don’t know that you truly do have a horse in the race. I could go into great detail on that but won’t because this is not the place for it. Just as it probably wasn’t the place for you to post what you did. But you did post it. And you wanted a reaction. And you have received a few. As I said earlier, regardless of your political beliefs, and thoughts you have always been one of my favorites to read on this forum. Saying something as offensive as you did, and meaning offensive to me does not mean that I throw away all the other contributions you have made. I was just letting you know that I felt it wasn’t the place for it. You are a long time member here. You can do you. I’m not woke, and I don’t want people to not express themselves. If anything I want people to wake up and realize that the same thoughts you have are the very thoughts that are going to be the ruin of our nation. I don’t want an authoritarian figure in charge of our country. I also don’t want OAC, or others like her in charge. We have gone way to far to the right, way to far to the left, and there really is no in between anymore. Statements like the one you made point it out. As far as being married and having a daughter in your life, there is a difference. I’m sure you know where I’m going with that. If you do not, that just shows me your inability to understand. Either way, good luck to you and yours. As I said, congratulations on your win. It was obviously something that you felt strongly about. Certainly something as strong to post about it in and on a music forum.
  11. Still no bitches? That’s the bitchless thing I’ve ever read. We all know to write something like that, you absolutely have no “ bitches” in your life. What a dick. What a little troll that is insignificant.
  12. I started collecting in the early 1990’s, and did so you until about 2001. I was shocked and saddened a bit when I realized all the money I had spent on collecting shows and limited releases were suddenly available online for all. I had spent a lot of time driving all over the Bay Area, southern Ca and even going to hole in the wall shops while out of state and buying shows that I did not have in my collection. All in all, I probably spent somewhere in the 10K range on shows alone. That’s not including the magazines, posters, shirts, books, etc. around 2004 I realized that the shows I bought were still important, they were important to my life. It was and is a passion, but for all of the people out there that have found and made shows available to us for free, and helped to insure the importance of the band, the continuation of the band through many generations that is equally as important. And I am stoked that they have made them available for free. It’s somewhat perplexing that someone who was not of age to record the band, can somehow get said recordings, and then want to force people to buy said shows. I also believe that we should be paying for some shows, and that as collectors we need to to help the continuation of shows to be released. I have to say having read your reply’s, and statements over the years is beyond cringe worthy. Who are you to personally profit off of the band. If you are not old enough to have been at any of the shows, let alone 69-72 and you are somehow profiting and holding onto shows for personal gain or out of grievances, then you my friend have some issues to work through. You are not the gate keeper of their music. And you should not get to decide on the distribution of their shows and profit off it. Or certainly not brag about trying too. I have followed your many different names throughout the years on a couple of forums, and you really say some stuff that is simply stupid. Be well Zepster.
  13. Also, are you married? And are you a father of a girl/woman? If not, you don’t have a horse in the race and it is just flat out wrong to make that statement on this forum. I’m ashamed of you honestly. And while I’m being honest, you are one of my favorite people to read on this forum. Doesn’t matter that we have vastly different opinions. For you to say something like that to get under peoples skin on purpose is just wrong.
  14. Damn. I started and stopped writing so many different responses to you. That’s a jackass statement to make on a music forum. But congrats on your win.
  15. These videos are great. Man, the world of the internet. Just endless amounts of fun, crazy, cool, disgusting, human and animal behavior. I went down a rabbit hole yesterday. There is a guy called Mark Rober who makes great content. He used to work for NASA. He now just makes awesome videos. If you have a chance check out his videos on squirrels. Fascinating. Then, while you’re there, check out his scammer videos, then pop over to these guys who just follow and try and destroy the lives of the scammers who prey on old people in the states. Really fun stuff. Have a great day!
  16. This is awesome. Thank you and your team for all of your efforts. Incredibly cool.
  17. Yes, the Ukrainian Army is getting beat pretty badly. Certainly the Russian military has taken some real losses and will be dealing with with many issues in the coming years. Truly is very sad to read and watch what is happening.
  18. Looking forward to hearing it. I really need to make time to play more. Life gets hectic and it is way to get away from all of the hustle and bustle and get lost. Be well, can’t wait to hear it Red.
  19. My family and I just got back from there. Yes it is crazy expensive. I recently purchased a Hybrid Ford Truck. So we are getting 600 plus miles to a tank. It saved us considering we live in the Bay Area and this was less than a 600 mile round trip. But yes it was crazy was absolutely outrageous.
  20. This is absolutely brilliant. So amazing to listen to Robert talk about his journey, his perspective of that time, and to hear him talk about his mates/brothers and to listen to him give them praise and minimize his contributions is absolutely incredible. It’s probably never going to happen, or maybe the 79 interview with Randy Jackson is going to be all we get with the a couple of them sitting down and going over their journey together. This is absolutely fantastic, what a great interview, I’ve listened a few times now and have gotten something new out of it each time. I hope that before it is too late we can get the 3 of them together and have them share in this vein. Certainly we had the 2012 Celebration Day promotion, but this is on another level. Love it. Thanks for posting this!
  21. That is a +1 Sir. And why have not seen that before. That is genius! And I might add delicious! I need to do that pronto! Good call.
  22. Do you think that guy could actually tell time? And his twin, wow. That’s some crazy shit. Poor bastards. I’m sure they didn’t want their Aunt, and their Dad to be their Mom and Dad. And just a guess, but they are probably from one of the Virginia states. Or maybe somewhere in the Mountains of Kentucky.
  23. I was as well. Especially considering the year this was done in. They still do this in the Bay Area. I also believe they do it on one of the classic rock stations on Sirius radio. Or at least I think I remember them doing that last year? There are several interesting placements of songs on this particular countdown. Thanks for this, cool to see what was up in 82.
  24. No doubt about that. Worthy of a book perhaps. It is one of my favorite things to go back and read on this forum. I hope we get to read about the 72 concerts.
