  1. Zeppelin didn't sell out all of their shows from 1968-1980, so having sold out shows is not the way to look at "success". Look how many millions or records they sell, what their fan base is like, how many people wanted to go the the Tribute show in December and couldn't (how their site collapsed when millions attempted to log on). There's personal success, financial success, doing better than the previous time; there's all types of ways to look at success. Their last performance at O2 was a huge success (IMHO). R
  2. yes. please let us know when it's scheduled again (or if it's listed on their website or something). Thankz, R
  3. maybe it was Lez Zeppelin (as they're playing Bonnaroo in Tennessee this summer). R
  4. LOL!!! Cool. He was on the "bridge" of the Mothership. R
  5. I thought VR was done for a while. I heard that Weiland was back and ready to tour again with STP according to Brendan O-Brien's (their producer's) brother, who was on the radio a week or so ago here in Atlanta (where STP records). Oh, well, so much for a Zep tour... (see, it's not Robert's fault, it's The Cult's fault)... R
  6. I think of "That's The Way". If Zeppelin ever did another show or two, it might be cool for Alison to join them in a mid acoustic set: That's The Way Going To California Tangerine Battle of Evermore and who knows that else??? R
  7. Bands that should have already been inducted well before Madonna. It is after all, the ROCK N ROLL Hall of Fame (not the POP/Dance Hall of Shame): Should be in now: Deep Purple (really sad they are not in there) YES Genesis RUSH (they need to be in there, too) Heart Grand Funk Gram Parsons Boston (EVERY classic rock station plays them) KISS (their fans band) Journey (3 decades of Rock/ all the hits/ great musicians) Foreigner (Another Classic Rock Band with too many hits to count) Bad Company (again, another pre-requisite for Rock N Roll --- first band on Zep's, Swan Song label too) Peter Frampton OZZY Blue Oyster Cult Styx (I don't like Dennis DeYoung's sappy stuff, but their other stuff wasn't bad) Def Leppard (ok, some might not like them listed here, but they've paid their dues --- more so than Mad donna) and don't forget Cheap Trick (they've opened for everyone and paid their dues) In another 10 years or so: Pearl Jam STP Soundgarden Ret Hot Chili Peppers Sheryl Crow Lenny Kravitz Black Crowes Sting I'm sure you can think of some bands that deserve to be there, too R
  8. I close each of my concerts with "Thank You". I've done medleys: Including (TSRTS, That's The Way, OTHAFA, IMTOD and on a rare occasion, Kashmir, AML or RNR). The first band I was in (back 20+ years ago), we did The Ocean, RNR and The Immigrant Song. R www.myspace.com/reidstevens
  9. ... Anyone for Atlanta or South East U.S. ? R
  10. It was probably another "band" decision (back in the day with Zeppelin), whereas with the Crowes, Page probably talked with the Crowes and said let's play this and they went, ok. Anything with you, Jimmy (Mr. Page), would be fine with us (we're not worthy). R
  11. Perhaps, with the Crowes, Page had several other guitarists (Rich Robinson and Audley Freed) to work out all of the guitar parts, have them rehearse it and to give it a fresh live feel. With Zeppelin, it's just him on guitar to cover all the guitar parts (or some variation of the arrangement), so maybe he never felt it would translate as well live. R
  12. I agree, too. Thanks for posting and sharing Miss. HD, R
  13. Thanks. It was previously posted on the forum though. Good to see it again, though. R
  14. ... That's the best answer, I've heard all afternoon. Thanks. Steve's was a good one, too (as usual). Let's just wait and see. As far as the DVD: They wouldn't have spent all that money on professional HD Cameras and film cameras just to have the footage never be released. That makes no sense. I bet/think a film is in the works (for a theatrical release later on (maybe later this year maybe not). Then the DVD, later this year (just in time for Christmas '08 or later next year). We'll see. R
  15. Yes, I've seen him on the Eagle Rock Entertainment Classic Album series DVDs, like Queen's, A Night at the Opera, Pink Floyd's, Dark Side of the Moon and a few british series rock dvds (where they critique artists/albums). He seems to know what he's saying on the videos. I've never read any of his books, though. I own The Led Zeppelin Concert File, too and it's a great source. R
  16. Thanks everyone. I'll just get the Third Eye one until they change their mind and patiently wait. Have a good one!!! I'll probably go get Plant/Krauss tix then (if there's to be no Zep tour or concerts here in the US). R
  17. ... and (on a side note) more Plant/Krauss solo dates (currently through July 1st in the US). Pre-sales just went on for more cities this morning at 10am. Doesn't look like there will be any Zeppelin tour anytime soon. Plant is enjoying his time with Alison. R
  18. Thanks. I still laugh and smile each time I think of Bonzo. He must have been something and a really cool guy to know. R
  19. ,,, don't forget custom built counters and accent light fixtures in the shape of a Zeppelin ballon (with the four symbols' shadows shining down (out) on the tiles of the floor. R
  20. Thanks for posting your photos and sharing. I met Jason in April of 1997 in Columbia, SC. He was drumming with his band (JBB). I talked with him, Tony (his guitarist) and John Smithson (bass/keys) a good bit after their show. A friend's band opened for them that night (at Rockafella's, a great local venue, which is now another place). Jason talked about his tatoo on his arm (three circles and told us what his dad said about the meaning of it). Jason, as expected, was a great guy. We talked for about 30 or 40 minutes afterwards, John Smithson and Tony were both really cool to us as well. John and I even had some mutual friends in S. Africa (small world). R
  21. ..."1980-Frankfort 6-30, Zurich 6-29, Brussells 6-20, Dortmond 6-17, there's really only about 2 bad shows out of the 15 or so boots not counting the one where Bonzo was ill. That show was too short to judge. " Was that when Bonzo ate like 15 bananas before playing and they had to wrap him up in a blanket to take him off of the stage? Plant made a comment to the audience and they were off after like 4 or 5 songs... R
  22. It's on again like every other day either in the afternoon or in the evening here in the US. It airs tonight @ 8pm EST (Thursday, 2/14) and this Sunday morning at 10am EST (2/17). Check CMT's website for their schedule. R
