  1. ....it is rather unfortunate....Steve Paul's Scene in New York, in a link I posted earlier, does indicate that Jimi played Guitar or Bass with the New Zeppelin....Robert Plant also talks widely about the Steve Paul's Scene Club in his various interviews... "And suddenly we were in places like Steve Paul's Scene, where the mini-Mafia would be kicking the tables over and chicks would be sleezing up to you and everything like that I mean, why stop ever?" Read more: http://www.led-zeppelin.org/reference/inde...0#ixzz0Lx6WBbOB This Scene gives high speculation that they "probably" had many encounters here... http://streetsyoucrossed.blogspot.com/2005...paul-scene.html
  2. I am very thankful for your expert knowledge...deeply appreciated as you have been extremely helpful to gain knowledge of our fav. band Led Zep...Thank you ever so much...

  3. ....beautiful picture AEN27...(Picture looks like '73) looks like Rodney and Led Zep are very close right from the beginning...Rodney also stated in Guitarworld '86 Issue that he arranged for the whole band to see Elvis in Vegas on Opening Night July 31, 1969 and they got special classic records "1969" that night...sure enough there was picture of Rodney w/Elvis...here is one more of the Happy/Go Luck days...
  4. ...Thank you for your willingness foremost to come up with this...initially I did have reasonable doubt that attire in question was also worn at Capital Centre, Landover May 28th or May 26th, 1977... I also recall from Royal Orleans.Com...that Robert wore this Shiny attire at beginning months of the Tour...May somewhat qualifies... The building scenario behind the picture in question can it be Capital Centre? Perhaps the Band is making a U-Turn....further, This is possibly the related picture/date.... Addendum: http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http...sa%3DN%26um%3D1 Addendum: Here is John Huntington's Link/Site - See Also Official Web Site Timeline Landover, May 30, his photo...(Showco provided all stage/related effects) http://www.controlgeek.net/blog/2008/9/4/e...pelin-1977.html I Thank you to all for their kindest assistance
  5. Venue: Capitol Center, Landover, Maryland, USA Date Not Confirmed: May 26th or 28th, 1977 http://ledzeppelin.com/image/photos-home/l...dover-5-30-77-2
  6. Venue: Capitol Center, Landover, Maryland, USA Date: Not confirmed, May 25, 26,28, or 30th, 1977....(corrected) Timeline http://ledzeppelin.com/image/photos-home/l...dover-5-30-77-2
  7. thank you so much for the info...I will definitely get hold of this...perhaps couple of screen shots can be made...
  8. ...well, I magnified the image, and the phone no. has now two possibilities .. 826-1971 Or 826-1941 You are right also, but back then it looks like area code 212 was in effect for New York... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_year_did_Ne..._million_people ...as for the words up top on the phone number...the last three are Mom......
  9. ...I'll add to it...the phone number appears at slight angle, initially I "thought" it was 0 in the middle, but you are correct, it is 676-1441, I examined it from bottom/side of screen with glare removed, and the solid number appears.....I second this.... Area Code for New York City is ofcourse (212) .......
  10. ...Then, I guess this confirms the Location/Venue for Zep Photo that you earlier located by photographer George Desota in the Master Forum Zep Photo, Since the attire was worn only on one particular date......... (The phone number, though, I was unsuccessful in reading in its' entirety). Here are the matching photos from from the other thread: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?sh...0&start=20#
  11. ...so far this is Pose.... (w/Guitar)
  12. Thank you Blocoboy for keeping track of His Journey....Indeed he is worthy of every attention...fine artist and man of conviction, for that he is loved world over... He said that he owed "everything to the musicians I work with", adding: "From the UK to Africa to Tennessee, it is their brilliance that I bounce off. Alone I'm nothing." ...Alone I commenced my journey, people moved along, caravan formed......
  13. Cofa, I sincerely hope it's possible to lobby somehow to maintain tradition with the help of local community/Industry ....I am not familiar with U.K. at all....... addendum: Perhaps, New Development can somehow honor original Tradition...clarification...
  14. ...It has been a long, long time.........
  15. Robert Talks about death of Jimi Hendrix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVpvjJepsIQ
  16. The Drone is known as the "Akashwani" Drone (spiritual/meditative sound) throughout India..... - All India Radio Station would broadcast the Akashwani Drone in 60's -70's at least, from anywhere couple minutes to half an hour and then slowly move toward Broadcasting Order of the Day..... ...addendum: The Original located now, here... The Zep Drone....All India Radio Original Tune..... http://www.ceveni.com/2009/05/all-india-ra...rning-tune.html Here is the Very short clip of Original Drone (very rare to find) the time Zep visited India early 70's from background of Film -** Bonus, You get to watch "Kashmir") (Starts at .20 sec. approx.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ET_KuW4ul8...feature=related Updated Version ...very nostalgic...the Drone would be all I hear coming from rows of houses as there were no TV's.........
  17. ...This is one of my most fav. attire of Robert...I like the Japaneese Print Shirt also...
  18. I wish they had gone more into this "very little footage topic", ...there seems to be so little information available surrounding this topic. Page, being a "perfectionist" , IMO, is very concerned about the image of the Band, rightfully so at the time, but not a futuristic vision... Thank you...I remembered bits of this interview, nice to read it comprehensively... ....and I do believe K. Wood/companion to Page was present in the Tower House at the Time K. Anger was there, then Page returned to Charlotte... edited for typing..
  19. .....It's business as usual for this topic...apologies if you were mislead on my part... "I, PlanetPage, hereby solemnly swear never to speculate on this topic anymore." " :D .........I shall rely on Shock Treatment...... :D
  20. Specific: Steve Paul's Scene Club References Hendrix /Zeppelin. etc..(Pg. 219 - 5th Paragraph approx.) http://books.google.ca/books?id=0UU2TUNrNa...lt&resnum=3 Further: UV: Could you explain how Jimi came to play it? TS: Well, at the time I was playing with Johnny Winter and I was living in New York and there was this club called Steve Paul's Scene. And we'd go there every night and there would be a jam session - there would be all these people there like Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jerry Lee Lewis, just all kinds of people and there would be jamming going on. And I was playing one night and he came up and asked if he could play bass. I went, `Sure'. And he really surprised me `cause he just turned it upside down and just played the shit out of it! He played with a pick and played the bass like a bass player would, not like a guitar player who just picked up a bass. He was a really good bass player, funky and really solid. http://www.djnoble.demon.co.uk/ints/TOMMYSH.ANN.html Club Image Here... http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http...ficial%26sa%3DG
  21. ...So happy for you...truly an experience to remember...Manfred Mann made me very nostalgic...I clearly remember where I was when I first heard Blinded By the Light...tks...it was a great flashback...Hope he is doing all right...(it's one of my most fav. song ever...) :D anyway, tks for sharing...
