  4. Cute comment, in typical fashion. Even has to pinpoint /get petty to deliver a reaction, eh. .........Buzz off Major Douche! Koalas : are so strongly reminiscent of bears that they are commoncly called "koala bears". As an arboreal marsupial , the Koala’s body is very similar to that of the wombat. Like kangaroos and wombats, Koala Bears carry their young in a pouch.

  6. ^ Thanks for the post Deb, that was an enjoyable view. I was surprised at Paul Rogers answer........on best guitarist. Paul's answer was based on his personal time working with each person, - the others answered on their favorite in general...it was entertaining to watch.
  7. I like it too RUSHZEP (good name) I find the leftovers from ITTOD to be good songs, also We're Gonna Groove, I can't Quit You....Lots of good tracks. I think the obscurity of it, is what attracts people to it. I have a few friends from High School that swear by this album. It's a favorite for some. It does have a certain appeal-and funny you bring up Coda, as I pulled it out for a good listen twice through today as I worked around my house........ I recall hearing the same thing about some overdub work, but that was a long long time ago, and don't remember the source of info. I will say it wasn't from the internet. It was from a magazine of some kind, I believe.
  8. I've heard that the latest album (and possibly last -also partially recorded in New Orleans) is "caked" with reverb, to an almost overwhelming point....never had a chance to listen yet, but I've talked to a few guys at the studio who said the reverb on it was a heavy dose......I'll have to check it out myself.
  9. ^ Good to see Robert is enjoying his life, whatever he chooses to do- Kenog, Ive tried to PM you a few times (since I got back from Italy), couldn't get through......
  10. It could be a biased source of material Walter (to a certain degree), I don't claim to know a tremendous amount about the man's personal life, (as you do) and don't really care too. I'm not as deeply involved as someone like yourself. Basically my statements came directly from the source of this book. I suppose being biased would have to be considered by the eye of the beholder and if you feel it's a true/factual manuscript of the the man's life or not. I'm not here to decide that, only posting what it reads......To be honest, I've read both good and horrible things of him way before I discovered this Chapter (on his journey). However, he had no problem calling himself a "Beast." Explanation is : There are a few reasons for the Beast designation. The most naturalistic, is that his mother used to refer to him as "The Beast." During his occult career he began to appreciate the mystical overtones of Revelations and began to identify with the Beast [Notice how Scarlett Women take a large place in Thelema] He used 666 because it, Kabbalistically refers to the Sun, which is the center of life on this planet; and thus spiritually relevant. Basically, in his system a Beast and the Sun are very important concepts. The core theme of Crowley's work is simple really. Basically each human has a "true orbit" in life, and they should follow that to the exclusion of everything else. Every act of magick and yoga should relate to learning that orbit, or as we call it "True Will." I've scrolled through a copy of Liber Al: the Central holy text of Thelema; this is what his views were based on, from my understanding. Being biased all depends on if you choose to view the man's beliefs fully and respect his work contrary to the flipside that say he was totally mad and an abuser/user of drugs, women and himself to a degree.. Personally, I see both sides of the spectrum, and it has been stated many times over in various transcripts of his drug abuse/addiction, homosexuality, torture, etc-which were alll part of his life, one way or another. I could care less either way about it- as I have no connection/interest in that part of his history. I do however find him interesting for the publications alone and his devotion for the more mysterious things in life/and beyond. A standout character indeed. Congradualtions on your studies and knowledge in the field, Im sure it's very rewarding to you.
  11. Well, i think you've held a grudge for a for a long long time, i might add. I'm sorry you feel that way about the album as you sound dissappointed about it, but in a nutshell-his comments on it (whatever he may have said - from a reliable source) and the content on the album won't change-it is what it is-even if it's not your personal cup of tea, and life goes on. The beauty of it is, you get to decide if you like it or not and nobody can change that...However-the grudge thing seems a little much. Take Care P.S. I rode my bike to the nearest music store (I was 15) that was about 8 miles from home. I enjoyed my risk/reward end result.........
  12. Hey Keithg, welcome to the forum. Interesting first post for you. Getting to the subject, what are you trying to imply here? If Page is quoted as saying that (from a reliable source) - then he said it........so I don't get the fuss. Also, the album is what it is, even if you feel it was sub-standard-it's been released for over two decades now (no changing it's content or lack of double album material) so what's the problem(s)?
  13. Strider, it could be just a similar trait in character, but these comments (Taro) remind me of someone who has been recently "extinct" from the Forum.....
  14. I'm browsing over a book at the moment entitled "The most evil secret societies in History". It has several Chapters on the likes of the KKK, The Thule Society, The Mau Mau, Order of the Solar Temple, and so on. Chapter 2 is "Agenteum Astrum"-Orgies in Sicily. I had not a clue at the time that this was about Aleister Crowley. Like Jimmy Page, I had always had an interest in the man, only for the mystery behind him and his occult involvement/publications...(I found that interesting) But,after reading this section with much enthusiasm I have to say that he was indeed one "sick" person to be brief. Some of the things they mention here are almost too difficult to comprehend one person could do to another. He basically tortured his apprentice daily and used "spells" to seduce many women, as most of them either committed suicide later in life (after they were seperated from his wrath) or simply escaped him physically. Others became addicted to drugs, as was Crowley himself. Aside from the books he published for the respect of the occult studies, I can't see why someone would be facsinated (on a personal level) with a man so immoral and twisted. As mysterious as he was, as a person he was not one to be praised and respected by any means. He was indeed a "Beast"
  15. Nice tits....!!!!! looks like someone pasted his head on another body...crazy ...it almost looks fake - (he still seems to carry himself like he's 25 though) Guess some guys never face reality in certain stages of life. He looks like a grandmother from the waist up. It's actually a shame that someone makes a career out of following celebrities around and taking pics of em' like this for the world to see. 30 years ago, people wouldn't have given a shit to even bother with this.
  16. SS was a great thing. It's gotta be my favorite time period with Plant outside Zeppelin or Page. Mighty Rearranger was a strong album.
  17. Why of couse they do!! The first time I brought him in to get checked, they said "Zeppelin?-like Led Zeppelin? how cool" Cresent City Vet (on jefferson) they are the best around! Any cat who can stand the sounds of WLL being blasted top notch through a PA system/jukebox and sit on a bar stool calmly while random people pet him-is damn fine by me anyday! Love my "Zeppelin"
  18. I was gonna tell you about that date in the other thread (with the Jazz Fest dates) Should be a good luck charm if you start that day, huh? Jimmy will be 68.......... That date has a meaning for me too. I found a black cat while playing music in a club uptown (Jan.9th, 2009). When we arrived at the Club (Howlin' Wolf) , "Whole Lotta Love" was on the jukebox. The cat was roaming in and out of the place-looking for attention. The owner said he had been feeding him for a month but couldn't keep him in the club anymore. I asked him if I could take him home after the gig. He was delighted. We properly named him - "Zeppelin"
  19. That would have been interesting to hear, although if you noticed-they did tune down their guitars a full step just adjust to Plant's vocal ability at the o2. So It would have been "different" for sure. I wouldn't doubt they tried it at early rehearsals and scrapped it? Maybe-who knows. But this version above^ is one of the best I've ever heard from P/P or Zeppelin for that matter. Page is one fire here as is the rhythm section-the whole thing is just incredible. I'm glad someone posted this! These are the kind of shows you wish they had professionally filmed.
  20. Yes, but even though it's the last-it went out on a good note! Listen to Plant hitting most of the high notes like the album. That's pretty damn impressive.
