Strider
Could someone tell me what show each of the footage is from? I know the non bootlegged is Seattle, but what are the others? At first glance I see Birmingham, Alabama and MSG, NY performance footage along with the Seattle Kingdome stuff...plus Park Plaza Hotel, NYC footage. kingzoso
This one. Celebrating Led Zeppelin's 1975 tour that began 40 years ago yesterday. I know that this was at the end of that tour but still a very awesome concert, both performance-wise and sound-quality wise. Stairway is NOT stolen
I really like how Page is down for a few seconds, then comes straight back in. It makes the impact of the song much more in your face.

appiantiqua
Yes! the earliest known LIVE recording!.... .... and a new discovery is always possible but i don't think there will be tapes prior to this gig to surface ..;

Strider
Yes! the earliest known LIVE recording!.... .... and a new discovery is always possible but i don't think there will be tapes prior to this gig to surface ..; Thanks to the bloody English. The 1968 UK tour should be known as the "While England Slept" tour. Apparently not one lazy sod could be bothered to tape one of the gigs from October to December 1968. Thank goodness the Americans were on their toes or we would have precious little of the "Dragon Telecaster-Rickenbacker amp" era of live Led Zeppelin. Now playing: January 22, 1975 Chicago. paul carruthers
Listening to the Godfathers records version of Seattle '77--on OTHAFA at the moment & I have to say, this Godfathers recording almost has me convinced that Jimmy's solo is actually quite good. Then again, I've been known to like stuff that people with better taste have told me is bad--for example...

I've never thought that solo was bad either. It had melody and and a defined structure to it rather than the usual spaced-out chaotic riffing. The guitar was slightly out of tune (slightly) but that doesn't mean his playing was bad. It'd probably sound even better if we had the actual soundboard and not the video soundtrack. I'm a little confused Paul...you talk about Seattle 77 in your post but the clip you attached is Landover 77. Thanks to the graciousness of NR, I'm listening to an audience source of Berlin '80 for the first time.
