ListenToThis
Storm Thorgerson, iconic designer of album cover art, to include Presence and Dark Side of the Moon, has passed away. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22210378 I will say the Presence album art is my favorite among Zep. Walter
So sad, what a tremendous talent he was! His work is timeless and will be looked at forever! Remember DSOTM is also floating out in space somewhere in that capsule they launched decades ago. RIP Mr. Thorgerson!

Led Dirigible
The world has lost a brilliant artist. Dark Side of the Moon, Presence, and Wish You Were Here were made that much more powerful by his artwork. R.I.P. Storm, you will be missed. Nutrocker
Storm Thorgerson was pure genius...some o' those covers are the most iconic of all time. Presence and Wish You Were Here (hell, the whole WWYH package as purchased on vinyl) are probably the best. Took me years to realize the cover of Meddle was an ear Hipgnosis were the undisputed kings of album artwork IMO. We won't bee seeing them again. Melcórë
Sad to hear! I've enjoyed several of his works. He did have his off moments, though: His design for Houses of the Holy (a tennis racquet on a green court) raised the group's ire, and so Aubrey Powell took his place. Janvier
STORM THORGERSON EXHIBITION TO GO AHEAD AT PORTSMOUTH GUILDHALL "Any Port in a Storm" scheduled for May 2013 The Portsmouth Cultural Trust today announced that the exhibition “Any Port in a Storm” featuring the album cover art of Storm Thorgerson will go ahead as planned. “We are saddened by the recent passing of Storm Thorgerson. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. It is a privilege to be able to commemorate this great artist by exhibiting his work at Portsmouth Guildhall.” The majestic building at the heart of Portsmouth is opening its doors to the people of the city and introducing, amongst other things, a free business lounge and art gallery. The Trust is celebrating these exciting developments with a fun-filled family day on Sunday 12th May 2013. The program will include children’s theatre performances, dance, circus and chocolate-making workshops, as well as an alternative market in the basement and an interactive music-room. The Zodiac Gallery will open with a free exhibition featuring the renowned work of Storm Thorgerson, responsible for many distinguished album covers for artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Steve Miller and most recently the likes of Muse and The Cranberries. The exhibition, which also forms part of the 2013 Portsmouth Festivities, will be on display from 12th May to 23rd June 2013 and is co-curated by Simon Poole. Following this exhibition will be a selection of pictures from the Rolling Stones’ 1972 tour to America. Working in partnership with the V&A Museum in London the Portsmouth Cultural Trust will also host the exhibition “My Generation: The Glory Years of British Rock” in October. http://www.portsmouthguildhall.org.uk/news/storm-thorgerson-exhibition-to-go-ahead-at-portsmouth-guildhall
