I know your out there! Who out there has a boss that drives you up a wall? There are days, and today is one of them, that I can't seem to do anything right in his eyes. The man is driving me up the wall. I told him ALL of my gray hair is because of him!

Ok I thought about what I said and really don't have that much grey hair yet, just a few sprinkles. Most of came from my surgery and my husband being diagnosed with cancer this last year. I still, however, tell my boss that they are all from him.

Thank you Darth Prime! I know I'm not the only one on the planet. I hope yours doesn't drive you too crazy. I can only dream of the day I come in and say "Enough is enough! I've had it and I'm outta here!!!

I'm really sorry you have a dud, especially given everything else that you've been through :( I have definitely paid my dues with bad bosses over the years. Thankfully the one I have now is wonderful, and has been a great mentor; but I had some real doozies before

Thanks guys! My boss can really be great guy one minute. Would give the shirt off of his back and he can turn in a nanosecond and be the biggest jerk you've ever seen! Darth I feel for you, I couldn't deal with that. Somebody would be wearing their food or drink! Believe it or not guys I'm an accountant.

I had one like that too; you never feel you are on solid ground in situations like that (walking on eggshells). Mine never yelled directly at me, although he did snipe a few times, but he definitely yelled at others in the dept. (and they yelled right back). It was very dysfunctional. I was young/entry level and trying to learn; so it was very frustrating. I was so happy to get out of there.

I don't walk on eggshells anymore. I understand I have really changed in the past year. If I think it I usually say it, sometimes without thinking it through. I have learned the hard way that there is sooo much more to life than just a job. My job no longer defines me!

The only advise I can give is, STOP SURFING THE NET AT WORK AND GET TO WORK.

My boss at my former job thought he was Snoop Dog or something, because he used to walk around the office like a pimp. Seriously....he had a pimp walk. And he'd stop at every cubicle and go "Hey there, how you doin'?" and then walk away.

When I worked at my school's radio station for a year in '06 I had one of the creepiest bosses probably ever. He emitted the smell of garlic, would go ape in sound proof production booths to such an extent that I could hear him on the other side of the room, would randomly come out of the booths to kick a trash can and then go right back in, and one time he lectured me on how I shouldn't eat meat for like 20 minutes in a row and we missed ten minutes of double audio. Of course I accelerated it by telling him that turkeys were ugly, stupid, mean, and deserved to be eaten, but whatever. :P

Ahhhh, I remember it well. My first day on the job in Las Vegas. I started swing shift at 4 PM and it was a blazing 110* on a July day. The boss sent me out back to help some guy level the ground so they could install an outside freezer. This was an airline catering service.

Well, this guy was just like a drill sergeant and I never heard anyone scream so much (at me) in my life. I couldn't do anything right and I'm pretty sure this dude died from a heart attack or stroke somewhere down the line. Fortunately, I only had to work with him for a couple hours.

I've had some real asshole foremen too working as a laborer.

'Big Mouth' Bill and Screamin' Al.

Don't take shit from your boss. Fuck that.

You are all free people who shouldn't put up with anything from another human being.

I'm in the Army. I have had to put up with a life time of bullshit. When I get out.......never again will I deal with bullshit, or a dickhead boss.

If you set them straight from the beginning, they'll leave you alone.

Set up boundaries immediately.

My first job was in a plastic factory(injection molding). The plant manager was a huge ex marine with a booming voice, very intimidating. One day he was working on a machine, and had disabled(or was ignoring) the saftey devices, and ended yp with a 3/4" inch steel bar thru his forearm...blood everywhere..he didn't even flinch, or make a sound...he pulled his arm out, wrapped it in his jacket and drove himself to the hospital. They took bone from his hip to rebuild his arm, he checked himself out and was back to work 2 days later

that dude was crazy

I also used to work with a former Marine. He was a dick who had all sorts of effed up notions about how things should work. Now I am always suspicious when finding out a co-worker has a military background.

Since I'm unofficially retired I don't have to worry about it anymore.
