LedZeppfan1977
Damn Reggie? What happened to you? You know I hit that big race down under. I love Australia racing. Big fields, on turf and distance which eliminates any post problems

I had the trifecta and I only used 1 horse for third. 17. I should have bet a dollar on the tri and the super. I swear I was going to put Finche 4th as I feed Finch's every day. As for the first two, I handicapped them. The 23 ran them down like they were standing still. What a race. I love Melbourne!!!!!!!! I am $546 richer Oh Reggie!!!! Reggie? Where art thou?😀🏇 Nice work! I looked at 23 but it was hard to pick it when horses don't have much if any, form on Australian courses. I gave you second and third. You're welcome! The trifecta paid 2.5k here. I put the bets in before I even saw your opinions. The 9 horse was one of 5 I put underneath in exactas. Where the hell have you been? I was looking to your reaction? I watched it live. Late at night here. In a race that long the post means nothing too. Great race by that horse. So I wish I had bet more on him to win. But hitting the trifecta was nice. I love Australia racing. Big fields, on grass and mostly long routes.
LedZeppfan1977
Race 1 at Churchill Downs today the 2 horse is named STRIDER. LOL> I bet a couple bucks on him to show. The nag is a late closer
LedZeppfan1977
This years favorite to win the Kentucky Derby was a horse named Omaha Beach. Its been reported he will not run do to some respiratory illness. This Saturday, the first Saturday in May is the Derby

PeaceFrogYum
This is complete bullshit, Maximum Security, nor the rider did anything wrong. The crime here is that the Derby causes these issues to happen and then cries foul? The Derby is the most crowded field in the sport having 20 horses run vs. 14 in every other race ever. These tracks were designed for no greater than 14 horses and no, the Derby's track is not wider, its standard width. They can barely get all the gates on the damn field and they wonder why a horse gets crowded or kicked. Looks like then lousy stewards had one too many Juleps before the race. Lousy seer-sucker suit wearing bums!!! BALDERDASH!!!

Lousy seer-sucker suit wearing bums!!! BALDERDASH!!! A local sports writer who loves to fight with me on the radio, local 1180 AM in Rochester NY Bob Matthews, is sure they made the right call. He is an asshole. Jerry Bailey was shocked they took the horse down. He tried to say how i am no expert, so I said, "do you think Jerry Bailey is an expert?" He says yes. But then I said Bailey was the best guy to ever ride a horse and once again he starts ripping off names, like Eddie Arcaro. Is he not the guy that rode Secretariat? Oh, that makes him a great jock? I could have rode that horse blind folded and won. I am with you. Fucking dumb ass stewards gave racing another black eye. Luiz Saiz is one guy that NEVER should play poker. He looked like the cat who ate the canary after the race the jackass. Guilt all over his face. For what? For coming out one lane? When he was clear and the horse would never be caught? And then they do not place him in the top 5? What the fuck is that about? They likely cost the sport many a casual fan.
Strider
Horse racing lost many casual fans years ago. It is a niche sport at best these days. If you live in Maryland-Virginia-Kentucky you grow up around horse racing and places like Santa Anita, Del Mar and the New York tracks have their fans but by and large, most Americans couldn't care less. I did not watch the race and haven't even watched the replays or highlights, so I can't comment on whether the right decision was made to DQ Maximum Security. But, considering how there were so many deaths at Santa Anita this year because of all the rain that they closed the track down, it seems to me the Kentucky Derby blew it by not postponing the race until the next day when the rain would be gone and the track wouldn't have been so sloppy. With the way breeders have bred thoroughbreds to have these big powerful beasts on spindly skinny lower legs, it is the rare horse that can run on mud without breaking a leg and having to be shot. My love of the sport came in my childhood in Chicago. My uncle would take me and my brother to the track (Arlington) every tuesday & thursday afternoons while on summer break. When we got to the track he would tell us to get lost and meet him at the #1 ticket counter at 4pm. Man we had a blast, sneaking into the sportsmans club, hanging out in the balcony, cruising the stables and talking with the jockeys and trainers. Those were good times. I strangely enough (growing up in Chicago) I grew up around horses through my older cousins who owned two Arabians. Always loved horses and still ride. I agree however the sport needs serious changes to move forward with all that has been happening. In this day of animal rights its only a matter of time before either the sport is updated and made safer for the horse, or, banned outright. So did you go to Sportsmans Pk too? I used to like that track. They had those ratings horses to the right of the horses in each race and they were pretty good handicapping tool. Once in a while my uncle would get a wild hair up his backside and we would go to Sportsmans for the harness racing. I never could figure out why we went because my uncle always complained they were fixed. Personally I like the quarter-horse races, 1/4 mi track and pure speed. A good quarter will smoke the best Thoroughbred in the 1/4mi. Claiming races are fun just to hang out and mingle with the owners and trainers all day. I have made the trip to Saratoga and Del Mar both. Del Mar in San Diego CA. Love that place. Saratoga is great too. The oldest in North America and known as the "playground for millionaires" in August Was last at Turning Stone when the Eagles beat NE in the Super Bowl last year. They opened Del Lago just up the thruway if I ever want to go to the casino. I am more a sports gambler and its coming. My high school was 5 min away from Turning Stone - back when it was still cow pastures and farms. I went to Vernon Downs many times with my father. My mother lives within walking distance of the track and her significant other works for Turning Stone. This weekend is the Preakness, correct? I am going with the 4 horse that was 5th in the Derby. I like an exacta of 4 over 7, 12,13 and a 4,7 box. Other good races on the card. So you must have lived near Utica? That is where the jillopy that is posted from my concert is from. LedZeppfan1977
Race 3 at Finger Lakes, in about an hour, the 1 horse is Dyer Maker. 5-1. Good chance. A 1,4,5 Tri box will probably fetch you a small small win. Only a 5 horse field.
LedZeppfan1977
The Belmont Stakes is tomorrow. Not that there is a triple crown on the line or anything. But I am leaning towards a horse that should pay well. Anyone interested? I am not going to just give you the name unless you have some degree of interest. Ill check back
