Deborah J
Strawberry Alarm Clock was cool. I am a member of guitarist Ed King's (the guy with the red strat in that clip) Forum. He's also one of the the three original guitarists of Lynyrd Skynyrd. http://edking.net/ I thought Paul Rever & The Raiders wrote that song. They had a hit with it too. Indian Reservation - Paul Revere & The Raiders Another one that brings back memories. Great reminders:-)

Jahfin
An oldie but a goodie. I can remember when these guys were new but due to the immense popularity of the similar sounding Black Crowes, the Quireboys quickly fell to the wayside (at least in the U.S.). Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Well, I can think of quite a few Garage rock bands in the 60's who were "one hit wonders" But "The Treytones" definitely come to mind! Obscure stuff, that's for sure! And well, "The Yellow Payges" had just 2 hits : "The Two of Us" and "Never Put Away My Love For You". I don't think many folks have heard of them! And then we have the band "4 Non Blondes" who to my knowledge had just one hit song "What's Up". It was a childhood fav of mine! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwCt0YQPn7g EDITED TO ADD : A very interesting thread indeed! Thanks for bring it back to life Jahfin! I used to play it on the reggae show I did during college. *Edited to add: Oops, wrong song. This is the one I was thinking of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQkMhHyjYbQ&feature=related Edited November 8, 2010 by Jahfin
Virginia
Me too. I used to play it on the reggae show I did during college. I probably still have the cassette somewhere (out in the garage probably).
Jahfin
I probably still have the cassette somewhere (out in the garage probably). I still have the vinyl somewhere from the radio station. I still need to hunt down a turntable so I can start revisiting all my old records.

danelectro59
Power pop from 1979 by a great band from the Windy City
danelectro59
London Ontario band that unfortunately never hit it big. I love singer Paul Jago's vocals and stage presence.
Jahfin
Nantucket could just as easily have been the band Almost Famous was based upon. They always seemed just within reach of rock n' roll's golden ring but for a multitude of reasons were never quite able to grasp it. They even recently warranted a mention in Classic Rock magazine's Cult Heroes series.
#1fan
Some of these were not one hit wonders.

Jahfin
I'm not sure if you're familiar with WNYC's program Soundcheck (which also airs on some NPR outlets nationwide) but Dexy's Midnight Runners were recently the center of a couple of segments on there. Definitely worth checking out when you have the extra time: Smackdown: Come on Eileen Too Rye Ay Edited January 8, 2011 by Jahfin
