ZeppFanForever Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Great song... I;m sure that ZeppFanForever know's this one. Hey, What's up "Zepaholic?" I LOVE YOUR ONE HIT WONDER THREAD! Yes, I am familiar with "Venus" by SHOCKING BLUE. Great song! There were so many one hitters. I'm not sure if all of these songs were one hit wonders but I'll name some any way as follows: Andrew Gold - Lonely Boy Nicolette Larson - Lotta Love Blue Swede - Hooked On A Feeling Skylark - Wildflower King Harvest - Dancing In the Moonlight Looking Glass - Spooky Pilot - Magic Ace - How Long Al Wilson - Show And Tell Redbone - Come And Get Your Love I figure that some of these bands had more than one hit but these songs were the most popular. I'm going to have to research a little further. I will be posting a lot more on this thread real soon. In the mean time, ROCK ON! Quote

Swede Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Venus is a great song, but my favourite song by Shockhing Blue is definitely Send Me a Postcard. It rocks like hell! Got to love Smith too. Their debut album "A group called Smith" is awesome. I get goose pimples hearing Gayle sing I Just Want To Make Love To You. WOW. Quote

ROCK ON! Loudon Wainwright, though that may have been his only "hit", has been around for a long time and has always had a definite following. Gosh I used to love Stuck In The Middle With You! Quote

ROCK ON! I have to disagree. Stories recorded very little, but most of it great material. Just because only one song got very popular doesn't mean the rest is no good. Brother Louie is a cover to boot. IMO their best song by far is Kathleen - their very own song. That's just off the top of my head. I think I'm going to get that on CD, to complement the vinyl. Quote

I really do like all of their music. For me personally, when I think of STORIES, I think of "Brother Louie." "Kathleen" is also another great song by STORIES. Now you've inspired me to dig through my thousands and thousands of Vinyl/LP's and CD's and find this band. In the mean time, ROCK ON! Quote

~tangerine~ Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I heard a song i like in the car tonight that is probably a one hit wonder. "When I See You Smile" by Bad English. I do have a soft spot for John Waite's music, especially the Babys. Quote
