  1. Love the stuff Annie Lennox has done, especially her solo work. Rickie Lee Jones does some fabulous stuff, check out Vessel of Light. Almost anything from her first two albums are amazing. Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. The first LP was hectic and amazing, the second much quieter but still amazing! Patty Smyth could have been lead singer for Van Halen, oh what that COULD HAVE BEEN! Hats off to EVH for recognizing an amazing possibility. God there's a ton! Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, Ani Difranco...could go on and on!
  2. Always loved the shots in the field for ITTOD. The youngsters on this site must look at the pics (bell bottoms, flowered shirts) and think...WTF??!!! Yeah there were definitely some outfits in that era!
  3. I totally agree with your take on STH. I am missing the similarity altogether!
  4. forget remastered releases and all the political BS that are the other threads....THIS is THE thread to be on!!
  5. As a fellow New Englander, I keep that thought in mind too: It's Feb, a short month, March is close by and lots of 40 and 50 degree (F) days in March. For now, well, what are you gonna do except just let it keep freakin snowing!
  6. Interesting. But would rather have an album of new music instead. That tour was pretty heavily bootlegged, so most fans have probably heard the show or one very close to it.
  7. I'm on my IPad so quoting a post and then trying to edit is not good! Totally agree with nutrocker's post top of the page. I have heard lots of guitarists say the same thing "Page IS sloppy, but plays with a lot of emotion".
  8. Wow, woz70, I had no idea about the attempt with Tony Thompson! Interesting stuff.
  9. I absolutely stand by Plant's constant efforts to stifle a reunion. No one has done more to build the Zep legacy than RP (as Peter Grant said, it's all about supply and demand, don't give them TOO much and leave them begging for more). But when I watch Live Aid, and see how young they all were, Plant is just bouncing around, he looks like a kid. It seems like that year....maybe....could it have worked? I also wonder if they had added a new drummer, and you had 3 clean members, might that new member have injected some "new blood" into the Zep canon and changed things up? Maybe force JP to clean up too? It's all speculation of course. If JP was the driving intellect behind LZ, and we measure what he has put out since the breakup, then yes, it is a very good thing indeed that LZ did not reform after JB's death. But if you LZ were to have reformed, they should have done it much sooner rather than later, IMHO.
  10. I remember picking up Rolling Stone back then and reading their statement. Within a year or two of this, AC/DC had lost Bon Scott and decided to carry on. The Who lost Moon and carried on. There was much speculation that Zep might try and go forward. In the end, I think it was Plant that really held the veto card. His voice was just way too integral a part of the Zep sound, and without him, there would be no Zep. Him walking away killed it, something I disagreed with at the time. Hell, I had just discovered Zep, and now they're ending? No fair! To this day I think reforming Zep in any manner TODAY would be a colossal mistake, but reforming in 1980 could definitely have worked. There were lots of talented drummers who could have stepped in. It would have been different, but Zep was know for being different. Not sure how it would have went with Page's problems...
  11. In high school, I had Three Toes and a Finger Gawd, why?!

It's always fun to have this during the season!
  13. Wishing everyone a super Christmas! And if you celebrate a different holiday, hope that is great too! Best wishes to everyone in 2015.

  18. About ten inches of very heavy wet snow. Many people without power, may be 3 to 5 days without it. Thank God we have a generator!

  21. I think i am 7-6 going into tonight's game. Seattle looks so mediocre. Washington, what happened with RG3 and all that? SF continues to struggle. Both NY teams look crappy so they'll probably both win big this week.. Thank God I don't put money on this stuff!!
  22. Wow, this week is full of tough picks! Thursday Nov. 13 Miami (could really go either way, but I think Miami holds on for a tough one) Sunday Nov. 16 Chicago (I think Chicago comes out with something to prove) Cleveland Seattle Atlanta New Orleans Washington Denver San Francisco San Diego Green Bay (my heart says Philly, but Rodgers is just too good at home this year) Detroit (very tough pick, but I've been rooting for Detroit for awhile, so I'll stick with that) New England Monday Nov. 17 Pittsburgh
  23. Totally off topic, but it always looks so strange to see a left handed bass or guitar! I'm not saying anything bad, but everytime I see a pic with one, I always stop and go "whaaa"?
  24. Thursday Nov. 6 Cincinnati Sunday Nov. 9 Kansas City Detroit New Orleans Pittsburgh Atlanta Dallas Baltimore Denver Arizona Seattle Green Bay Monday Nov. 10 Philadelphia
