  8. Adrian Peterson won't be playing against NE Sunday....could really change the dynamics of the game.
  9. Thanks for the vote LZFan77. I think the Bills and Dolphins are onto something. It's early, but I think they are finding a good groove. I think New England is onto something, and it doesn't feel good, lol! Hope I am wrong on all of it, but the Bills especially, and now with news that they won't be moving, seem to be one fired up hungry group.
  10. My picks: Pittsburgh Buffalo Washington Tennessee Arizona Minnesota New Orleans Atlanta Detroit St. Louis Seattle Houston Green Bay Denver San Francisco Philadelphia
  11. Some surprises so far... New England stinks up the joint The Bills stomp the Bears (whoda thunk, other than LedZepfan77) ;-) Houston over Washington Philly starts slow but finishes nice I'm afraid to see how I am doing so far, lol!
  12. I intend to chime in every week this year. Without further ado: Thursday, September 4 Seattle Seahawks Sunday, September 7 Atlanta Falcons Minnesota Vikings Pittsburgh Steelers Philadelphia Eagles Oakland Raiders Cincinnati Bengals Chicago Bears Washington Redskins Tennessee Titans New England Patriots Tampa Bay Bucs San Francisco 49ers Denver Broncos Monday, September 8 Detroit Lions San Diego Chargers That first game is a MONSTER! Should be awesome!
  13. because I think In The Evening is such a classic Zep tune! Infused with just enough "new sound", but still heavy
  14. Agree with most of the others. Double live Gonzo is quite the little quick ride through Ted's best times. After that, it hasn't been much, honestly. Same old recycled hash mostly, occasional flashes of good stuff.
  15. Couldn't have said this better myself. As much as I love Zep, it is very disheartening to keep seeing these accusations. And more than a few appear to be quite meritorious. I did somehow miss the Simpson's characterization of Jimmy, I will have to Google it. Although sadly, JP is contributing to his own unattractive characterizations, with his promise to "play live soon", something we've been hearing for about 20 years now. Contributing late, so I'll just go all over the place, lol! Jeff Beck's TRUTH is a MONSTROUSLY good album! Edit: I found the Simpsons reference. Ouch.
  16. I always thought the Tour Over Europe didn't get the respect it deserved. I find some of the shows very good, I like the trimmed down songs (no long solos and what not). Unfortunately it was really a warmup exercise for the planned US Tour, so some of the shows are sort of bland. There are some jewels (heck, the fact they would open with pretty raucous versions of Train Kept a Rollin was pretty amazing)
  17. It does seem like a huge accusation to make, but God knows Frehley has had issues since almost day one of the band. His actions during the interview with Tom Snyder should have got him booted from the band the next day. Stanley does not seem to be one to make idle accusations, so if he says it, it is a whole lot more believable.
  18. Thanks for sharing. Plant is just SO comfortable with where he is as a performer!! So good to see him show up for unannounced things like this.
  19. That's the Way Tangerine Going to California If I had to pick one, probably That's the Way.
  20. Was "I Shot the Sheriff" done in a reggae way? I have heard him do it so it's more poppy, but I love the reggae tinged versions better.
  21. Zep - Custard Pie. Make it stop, make it stop!!
  22. Gotta say, I love that Downton Abbey stuff! But Masterpiece on PBS is almost always a home run.
  23. Due for more snow tomorrow....sigh. Come on Spring, we miss ya!
  24. The first time I saw Bob was probably 1993 or so, it was in Beverly MA on a college campus (Endicott) under a big tent.... Bob was good, but like Strider says, he has a tendency to change things up every night. I became a fairly large Dylan bootleg collecter, and the setlists were never the same from night to night. He would have a core of songs, so 12 songs would stay the same, but he would mix in four new ones in each setlist....always in the same positions (so songs 2, 5,9, and 12 for example would be diff each night). For most of the early 90s, I remember song 3 was always "All Along the Watchtower" and the closing song was always "It Ain't Me Babe". I remember the show and sometimes he would be almost done the song before I realized what the song was. He would speed up ballads and turn them into rock and roll numbers and do the opposite to other songs. On one of his live CDs (Real Live) he does Tangled Up in Blue with an entirely new set of lyrics, and that is a long song with a lot of words. To do that, get all the syllables matching up and what not, pretty amazing. Some of his finest material he never officially released until "the Bootleg Series" stuff. Incredible he still plays to this day as many shows as he does.
