  1. What did he use in the "It Might Get Loud" movie (outtakes)? That is what sounded the best to me - it was the Les Paul, right? The song in '77 sounded better, overall, mainly due to Robert being able to really sing it properly. But the guitar part seems to sound better, to me, using the Les Paul.
  2. I ended up going directly to their website and found them - thanks for the information! I had been waiting for a ticket alert - should have just checked with everyone here.
  3. Just saw this post after the last, no sign of Clearwater on the ticketmaster website either - I'll keep checking though.....
  4. I have been checking ticketmaster and they have no record of an Orlando show at all - just J'ville. Thank you for the info., I will check into that.
  5. Roger Waters - The Wall - Tampa, on November 16.
  6. Only Jacksonville for the state of Florida - what's up with that?!? Oh well.......
  7. Happy almost birthday! Miss seeing your posts (haven't seen you around in a while). Peace.

  8. Smells like bullsh!t to me! Again, some of the most influential and biggest selling acts are nowhere to be found!
  9. Listening to "The Rain Song" from the TSRTS soundtrack - newer version.
  10. I am aware that EVH did the solo, Electrophile. I can think of at least 25 other EVH solos that could be on that list over "Beat It"!
  11. What about "Beat It" being #50 ALL-TIME!

    NASCAR 2010

Clint Bowyer - 150 point penalty? Crew chief and car chief suspended for 6 races? Wow! Stay tuned though - they are appealing it. RC says that other cars bumped Bowyer post race and the wrecker that pushed the car to victory lane (after they ran out of gas doing burnouts) knocked the rear-end and raised it past the tolerance that NASCAR allows. We shall see.......
  13. I believe he said that "Achillies Last Stand" was his favorite song of his father's, so it will be interesting to see if he tries to pull that one off.
  14. I'll be at the 11/16 show in Tampa - can't wait! I would be interested in hearing what stood out, in your opinion, to make the show so incredible?

    NASCAR 2010

Well, The Chase has officially begun as of yesterday. Good job Clint Bowyer and too bad for all the guys who took a chance and ran out of gas the last couple of laps. That's a tough call, but to cut it that close is probably not the smartest move this early in the 10 race "playoff" (for lack of better term). Who is everyone picking? Even with JJ's bad finish yesterday, I still have a hard time thinking he will not win this thing again. I mean this run of tracks, especially in October and November are pretty much his bread and butter tracks. So, we will see....... How is everyone doing out there? Many different series will be wrapping up shortly - any HUGE surprises this year in your favorite forms of racing?? Peace.
  16. Yeah, will do. I have had their greatest hits (Gold and Platnum?) since I was a kid. Recently I picked a 3-disc compilation that has some outtakes, live versions, etc. on it at a used cd outlet. But, I should just get the entire collection - as you said there are only 5 studio albums anyway. Looking forward to it - thanks for the suggestions guys!
  17. Never have heard Mississippi Kid before - liking it a lot though. I will have to pick up their catalog and check out more of their stuff! I definitely dig their stripped down bluesy sound on that song.
  18. Interesting statement. During a few of The Wall shows I have heard, Roger referred to him as "Dave" - one time I believe Waters said, "our very lovable Dave". I guess that was more of the waring that was going on between the two during those years.
  19. I didn't know it was released post-crash. I grew up in the middle of upstate New York and never even saw a Confederate flag until my first trip to the Daytona 500 in 1980! I am not doubting what you are saying at all, just what my personal experience was. It wasn't' until we moved to Florida that I realized how big of a band Skynyrd was - really just about at the same level as Zeppelin down in these parts. Thanks for cluing me in on those facts. You always have something interesting to add, Jahfin.
  20. My Skynyrd collection isn't that extensive, so I guess I will need to add more to it. Swede, what I meant by more obscure is basically the songs that our American radio hasn't played to death. They seem to play the same 10 songs or so from them. I really love the way Ronnie tells a story within the songs and how the music really sets the mood. I didn't live in the south when I was young, so I wasn't as exposed to their music as people born in the south were. Needle and the Spoon is also a big favorite of mine Type O. I heard an interview with Artimus Pyle many years ago when he spoke about his first hand knowledge of the crash - what an absolute tragedy. Hard to believe we lost so many great musicians within a decades time.......
  21. This is too ironic that I just put my self-made LS greatest hits disc in my vehicle this past weekend and now this thread resurfaced - great stuff!! What is your favorite more obscure song of theirs? The Ballad Of Curtis Lowe is one of my favs, for sure!
