  1. Do you think they might possibly play "Love Reign Over Me"? Watch out for Johnny one finger, with starting too many new threads, here...
  2. Come on now, what's all the hostility over Johnny Cash? Yes, he's flawed - but that's part of the beauty of humanity. I could never be offended by a human image, only an inhuman one - like Iggy Pop or Dee Snider, for example.
  3. I figured I was streaching that one, just like to drop The Cult's name once in a while. Maybe just a bit of belt-it-out, rockabilly in both?
  4. He does repeat himself, just like the real McCoy - but that middle finger seems to come out at you with even more tenacity.
  5. I'll admit to turning up his stuff when it comes on the radio. Is there any connection or influence from The Cult, who I think are awesome? It seems they formed around the same time period.
  6. Love the Monkees, usually like campy stuff - but wasn't this film really unwatchable?
  7. The Stones and Clapton still do shows, and some songs are excellent tributes to their predecessors. Sorry I didn't say "In my humble opinion", but I think they're still revelant to a majority of people that enjoy the history of blues/rock music. And they haven't lowered themselves to playing air guitar to pre-recorded music, that I've heard of yet.
  8. He painted himself into a corner many decades ago, when LZ was essentially doing covers, but crediting themselves on the album. He could easily just dig up any of the vast archives of forgotten blues music, and make some wonderful versions again. How do you think the Stones and Clapton are still relavant? But he can't muster the simple words "Here's a song by"...
  9. I offered "Moonrise Kingdom" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" as options for my wife to see together. She picked the latter. I usually don't go to movies, but thought this might be in 3D and wanted to experience one for the first time - it wasn't, though. They had 3D glasses at the entrance, and all the previews they showed (including "The Great Gatsby" WTF?) were going to be in 3D. Anyway, this is probably much like "Lord of the Rings", except the bad guys down go down quite as easy. And don't expect any Hi-Ho's...
  10. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong group, or am more gullible with the news than I realized. Didn't this group again cancel most/all of the shows that were postponed a while back, yet are recently being considered as the halftime act for The Superbowl?
  11. Can this great news be true - that there exist more than three stooges???
  12. I am fascinated by these childish men you call "The Stooges", please show me more.
  13. I like both groups, their albums are all more solid than most people give credit for. But Buckingham tends to do the same thing with most of his solos (if you could call them that), and can't be compared to Joe Walsh. Just wondering what these two groups share that makes you compare and contrast them? Chicks like them, too???
  14. Some bands shouldn't attempt cover songs (hello, Van Halen). Some bands I like excell at cover songs (Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna). If a band covers a song from many decades ago, that would probably be never heard again if they hadn't, that can be special. In this case, I'm just curious what Geddy does instrumentally with those songs...
  15. Oh dear, I don't think THAT would be allowed in our home. My wife only allows me to watch videos of Josh Groban and Celine Dion - you know, shows where there's no line at the Men's room.
  16. The bass players he admires are all my choices too. Entwisle, Squier, JPJ, Jack Bruce... "Bless It's Pointed Little Head", the live Jefferson Airplane album with Jack Casady he likes, rarely gets mention in any interview or forum I've seen. I've never heard Rush cover other bands' songs, but looked into it and see they did "Feedback" about 8 years ago. Two Yardbird's songs on there, and their version of the Who's "Seeker" must be something!
  17. I assume that was a free show? You probably got more entertainment laughing at them, than if they had played. Our town has done a great job getting cover bands that draw hundreds, if not thousands - I can bring a cooler of beer and dance wherever I want. A few nights ago "Satisfaction" did the Stones, and soon "Stagger Lee" will do the Dead's livelier songs.
  18. Quite content seeing local cover bands - free shows at the park or dockside bars. Looking forward to seeing the mostly original lineup of Vanilla Fudge next month.
  19. I was thinking of the song "Gold" that John Stewart did with them (Buckingham-Nicks). Pretty sure the old radio stations would always introduce this as a Fleetwood Mac song. Definitely sounds like one...
  20. Priceless headline on that cover. "I SEE US DOING THIS FOR A LONG, LONG TIME" Doing what, treating your fanbase like shit?
  21. NJ has the best wine for weddings, and numerous casual encounter turnpike service areas - so it really should be on everyones' must visit list.
  22. As far as women I've only seen on TV or pictures of, there is no other...
  23. I'm very guilty of keeping my head under rocks with my fingers in my ears, but enjoy having Jahfin here. Not insulted one bit. I think people confuse what is often on the radio or heard out in the streets with what he is touting as good current music.
  24. I'd say at least half the women posted here are far from beautiful. Actresses, celebrities, runway models - you can keep them all. Most of the people who run the media and entertainment business aren't even normal sexually - why would I let them influence what I find appealing?
