Welcome back, Liz!
Walter - I can't believe it, but I actually might have a few more hairs on my head than you. Thanks for the pick-me-up!
Steve - are you a famous sumu wrestler, over there?
Kinda sad that JPJ was always such a steady and dependable force with LZ, especially at the end - yet he got snubbed in later chances to reunite in one way or another...
^ All in good fun, but I will reserve my final judgement until I see Paul's next picture. 3 strikes and you're out - kinda like the Mets batting lineup!
Someone here posted a song "Say it Ain't so, Joe" with Roger Daltrey singing, along with Moon, Entwistle, and some very nice backup vocals. I don't recall ever hearing it before, but can't get it out of my head, now!
Just finishing up a brutal double shift at work. Have a huge rack of St. Louis ribs waiting to go in oven when I get home - they can slow cook, while I catch up on sleep. Some muff when I wake up would be a nice appetizer...
^ Motion in the ocean, oooooh-waaah
Air hose broke, oooooh-waaah
Lots of trouble, oooooh-waaah
Lots of bubbles, oooooh-waaah
He was in a jam, oooooh-waaah
He was in - a - giant CLAM!!!
Our town just released the summer lineup of free outdoor shows, and Mark Farner is listed. Funny, cause last year they had Don Brewer and Mel Shacher play as Grand Funk. They are still a top notch rhythm section, and they had an ex-Kiss guitarist who did a good job. Maybe if Mark, Don, and Mel were reunited, they would get more than these small gigs? I'm not complaining - it's free and sounds fine to me!
I'll give you one outstanding note about this show - the ending song choice. "Baby Blue" is a fairly obscure song, by a group basically considered a one hit wonder for a different song. Reminds me of how "Friends" (one of my wife's favorite, not mine) ended with Jefferson Airplane's "Embryonic Journey" (actually Jorma Kaukonen solo acoustic).
Without Big Brother, I don't think there would be a reason to list Janis Joplin, here.
Grace Slick had the best voice/fellow singer (Marty Balin)/band (Jefferson Airplane).
Good morning, little schoolgirl
Good morning little schoolgirl
Can I go home with you?
Won't you let me go home with you?
So I can hug-hug, squeeze-squeeze
If you let me tease you baby
Hey, hey, hey-hey-hey...
Definitely "The Rover", because of the guitar phase shifter effect, and how he changes (key?) on the last riffs. But every time I listen, I'm, like, no no don't go away - PLAY MORE!!!
IIIIIIIII'd like to have those can-cans, in my fucking hand-hands...DaDa, DaDa, DaaaDaaaaa...Whooomp, Whooomp, Whooomp, Whooomp, Whooomp, DaDa, DaDa, DaaaDaaaaa...
