I won the Super Bowl picks!!! Woohoo!!! And I am 7-4 in the Playoffs!!

And this from someone whom just started watching football, out of curiosity, at the start of the playoffs.

Black Dawg and EBK, congrats on your Ravens win.

After their win against the Broncos, in Denver, in that crazy ass frigid and oxygen deprived weather, I knew they could go all the way.

I would have been here more but grew tired of the trash talk. Keep your mouth shut and let the game speak for you.

Congratulations Ms. Texas Melanie.

Congrats to all Ravens fans Black Dawg, ebk, anyone else I've missed.

Thanks to Mr. Carruthers and other NFL contest coordinators during the season, that was fun.

Onto NBA, NHL and MLB soon (thank goodness).

Wait a minute. Malanie picked 37-35 Baltimore. I picked 26-24 Baltimore. What makes her pick better than mine? and my playoff record was the best. Just saying

Rick you were 8-3, Dawg was 9-2, so no you were not the best. Don't question my math! :P And Melanie's score was closest to the actual score of the game, so that's what I counted, again don't ask no questions just deal with it. :bubble:

How in the fuck is 37-35 closer than 26-24?????? How??????

Hasn't he retired?

Plus they play for the whole 90 minutes, no swapping offence and defence and they don't bring on specialist kickers either.

Btw, I thought the turning point in the game was that kick return touchdown before the lights went out.

How they allowed him that much space and let him through to score was a real coach killer.

The Ravens almost did enough to get themselves beaten and if it wasn't for that play they would've lost, as thatt turned out to be the difference.

Do I need to send this guy down under to settle this?

When they took that intentional safety at the end I could just imagine all the screaming by people with squares.

Rick, you know that's a tough way to make buck and an easier way to spend it. We were talking about that. It serves them right for signing an ill fated box with a team of destiny winning the big prize.

I wont pretend I wasn't a bit worried after that power outage and I knew this could only help the 49ers because Baltimore had all the momentum. That was a great defensive play to stop the two point conversion. I am sitting there saying "dont let this kapernick guy run it in on you". I am a bit surprised by that play call. A timing route to the corner that he overthew badly. I thought he would play action and then roll out to see what his options were. I think they made a huge mistake on that one. But I am happy they did.

Ravens had been tough on the short field all season. They didn't get enough credit for their red zone presence on defense. 9'ers were one of the few teams that found the end zone. They need to be given a lot of credit. Ravens proved to be the more complete team. I wonder what kind of excuses the talking heads are making for them now.

I still think Alex Smith got a raw deal. I dont care about Kapernick and his ability to run. Here comes another Michel Vick. Lets see if he can survive a 16 game schedule with his love to run style? Some guy like Clay Matthews or Urlacher will ring his bell and he wont get up so fast. I know Alex will want out. Did you see the body language beteen the two on the sideline? The draft experts have KC picking a QB at number one. Even though the first QB available, is ranked at 23 in the list of draft order talent. So have they given up on Cassel? I do not see Alex being sent to a team in their own division, ie Arizona. So it may be between the Chiefs and Bills? The Bills have far more talent than KC and they would be a far smarter place for him to go if he wanted to win fast. We need Alex, a linebacker and another reciever and then we are ready to compete.

I must say, if the top 7 ahead of us pass on that alabama guard, I would grab him

IF you had picked the 49'ers, I'd have heard you screaming down here about the refs not calling Reed being offsides and holding on the last throw - just like Coach Jim was! Needless to say, I am VERY glad the Ravens beat the 49'ers....Cowboys still tied for the most SB wins by an NFC team (5) and only 1 behind Shittsburgh overall. Now, just get rid of Jerry and get a new coach and maybe big D will win another in the next 2 decades!

Lets not forget the other "NON CALL". Tory Smith downfield was grabbed and they called nothing. And it was a big play at the time.

I'd love to meet him!

It's good to see the champ is doing well despite reports he was on his death-bed.

Unlike some others on here at least you have a sense of humour, Dawg.

I'm glad your team won.

No more football 'til September. :( Well, I'll have the NBA and MLB to keep me warm until then, and let me go on record I got Green Bay and Denver in next year's Super Bowl, provided Green Bay gets a defense that will actually help out Aaron Rodgers.

Can't argue with Green Bay and Denver next year.

I might toss Atlanta into the mix since they won a freakin' playoff game this year.

Man, it's a bummer when college and pro football comes to an end for the season.

Free agency and the draft must occur before any predictions are made for next year. Ill make a prediction. Atlanta will be heard from. Denver will regress. Peyton Manning is running out of time and it is going to start showing. And the same goes for Tom Terrific. Just let my boys get a QB like Smith and then the shit is going to hit the fan

I agree! I thought it was a very well played game, on both sides. The fights were BS and should've been controlled better by the refs. Thought Aikers would've been a problem too - he kinda was but they covered for him. Randy Moss is the POS we all thought he was, GOAT nothing! Not even top 10 in this era! Flacco was as underrated as I've always said - who beats P. Manning, Brady and then the vaunted 49 defense in succession? Flacco, that's who! I LOVE Bolden, always have since FSU and his time in Arizona. Pitta is coming along nicely, Dallas Clark-type. Smith is just a BEAST at the other wide-out. Anyway, sorry to say "good-bye" to the season, but it never really ends. Free agency soon, then the draft in April. Camps officially open in July, only 5 months away! When do we start the NFL '13 thread? Last year it was in March....great time discussion the sport, opinions and picks all season long with everyone! :yesnod:

That goal line stand by the Ravens will go down as one of the best in Superbowl history and of all time. San Fran had 4 shots to go 7 yards and faced the stingy defense of the Ravens. Joe Cool has nerves of steel..how bout that 3rd and short and he calls a pass play and gains more then enough and breaks the back of the 49ers.. Boldin and Smith are to of the most talented recievers in the game. The Ravens willed their way all the way to the Superbowl and took home the trophy..Congrats to your tem Black Dawg, savor the victory!
