reswati
I just wondered how your homes may look like..........which vibe surrounds you when you wake up, eat, sleep, piss, make love, listen to musick........... Here are some shots of my surroundings (I like to be surrounded by art, it tends to inspire me, as you may have noticed)......feel free to show some shots of yours. IpMan
Love the digs Res, always like eclectic tastes. My tastes and decor lean toward a combination of late Victorian / Edwardian combined with what I would call "witchy." Colors of deep greens, maroon, scarlet, plumb, brown, and dark blue. Think Aleister Crawley meets Sherlock Holmes meets Stevie Nicks. Lots or religious and historic iconography accented by art by the Italian & Dutch masters, with some Gustav Klimt and Hieronymus Bosch thrown in for good measure. And no Hentai to be seen anywhere. kipper
your kitchen is even smaller than mine and I have a very small apartment. When I was in high school my friend's older brother decorated their basement in all the devil stuff and Black sabbath posters and those black lights so yours reminds me of that. We used to do that ouji board thing for fun until his mother found out and then he had to take all of that stuff down. Where do you buy your stuff? I see the elephant indian at a antique shop downtown some people really like that stuff. The only thing I have that is spiritual is a dream catcher that my neice got me for my birthday. I always have to remember to put it out when she comes so not to hurt her feelings. you have nice things. And I like Steves christmas stuff too. That is how my grandmother used to decorate and it brings back nice memories.
reswati
Where to obtain stuff like that...................most artwork is either self made, or traded from other artists. Also many weird stuff can be found on flea markets, second hand shops, and on travels. It seems that the wooden devil's head was made by a tribe of headhunters from the Philippines. I forgot to post the human skull that has been with me since I was 18, so here she is:

chillumpuffer
Our tastes are very minimal these days. Clean lines and reclaimed furniture. Gone is the hippy stuff so beloved of my earlier years Mrs CP has an excellent eye and she always says "it's about the lighting". Soft colours on the walls ( no wallpaper) and candles for that cosy effect especially with a wood burning stove. We only have a carpet on the stairs, for safety purposes, with original floor boards and tiles. No curtains either weirdly enough, plantation shutters and blinds for the windows. We live in an old stone cottage and clutter only makes it feel small. Of course we have Indian Daities that we have collected and my office in the loft has my old tickets and posters. I will post some pics when I get a chance.
Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Welcome to my home! Well, a cross section of it! My mom and I were the decorators. My dad was well, just there. He's colour blind! In the photos of the walls of my room, you will also notice my *ahem obsession for Victorian Art (specifically Pre-Raphaelite art) Oh and think what you will, but yes, I do have what I refer to, as my personal corner of silliness! Here's the view from my window: Edited November 18, 2016 by Kiwi_Zep_Fan87

Coming from you Res, that means a lot, given the fact that I admire your artistic talents! I forgot to add yesterday, that I love so many of those artifacts that you have on display, especially these: I wanted this exact shade of purple for my room! But my mom flipped her wig and begged me to settle for a lighter shade! This artifact is gorgeous and historical! I can look at it for hours! Also, love the aqua blue wall paint! Thanks for sharing! Freeyyaa
Reswati, do you have central heating or running water at home?
craigled
Our house is a mess tbh. Kids toys and clothes all over the place. More or less everything has been picked by my Mrs. The bedroom is where you see more of my things. All the cds. I have 1 wall. I have got a Everton calendar up. A few Maiden postcards. And Led Zepp pics. Most are the ones i have cut out of the cd booklets.

Neither......water is very scarce in Holland, so it is forbidden to have running water. We heat our houses with log fires in the living room, but we must always be cautious as to not burn our houses down, since we can not extinguish the flames due to the water restrictions. (Just in case if you wonder how we flush our toilet......most of us just poop in the garden and then bury the stuff). We have coal and wood fires which we cook our food and heat our homes but "running water" ? I've heard that there is a hotel in London that says it has hot and cold running water but I don't believe it. I once stayed in a hotel in Shimla ( Himachel Pradesh in India) that had both hot and cold water and it was amazing !!

Yes, more commonly known as pan on the stove, we recently had ours converted to run on butane gas, no more having to chop wood in the cold of winter. WE are quite luck that the standpipe where we collect our water is only yards away from our door. Edited December 21, 2016 by JTM

It's more about cool water here. Luckily our aquifer is so close to the surface, we don't have to dig too deep to get some. The golf courses' fertilizer makes it have a good taste and color though. The swamps provide a good source for "waste management", but ya better watch out for them gators!
reswati
In long forgotten times we used to cut out the heart of one chosen virgin once a month to please the mighty sun deity Ommhotep to grant us lots of heat so we would not have to rely on fires, but due to economic recession we ran out of victims. Good thing for you all of these undocumented, unvetted, refugees from Syria, etc are hanging around Europe. You might be able to start that practice up again. With the blessing of some major, and soon to be major, leaders of their respective countries. Win - win, in some eyes....
