Brigante
Hilariously, it used to be the bowling green of a Conservative Club and they used to make a big thing of it having the best grass (...) in the Midlands. Sutton in Ashfield, south-west of Mansfield - all the glamour jobs...
chillumpuffer
Never scored good grass in Mansfield. Bit of a shithole if I remember.

rm2551
Finally feels like winter, dark this morning and drizzle with no wind and cold. Still, a moderate winter at that, top temps still 20c.

Brigante
No fear of that, Chillum - I never go out in the sun if I can help it. I'd faint clean away like a Southern belle! No, I'm not a goth. I said I'm not a...oh...😉
chillumpuffer
Met Office issues first ever extreme heat warning amid sweltering conditions across UK (msn.com) Oh dear, my Yorkshire friend will not be at all happy.
Brigante
F*ck, f*ck, f*cking f*ck - as the dear old Queen Mum used to say! I'm sat under an open window in the coolest part of the house and my clothes are literally soaked through with sweat, the very air is like an oppressive miasma of pish and I've got a pressure headache from the orrible glowering hell of it. It's grim up North! BBC weather forecast for this coming weekend? 'It might rain - but it might not'!? She literally said that. How do they get actually paid for spouting that guff?! Has it been any different from the normal?? Very cool in our old stone cottage. Lovely. I'm going in the garden for a cold Peroni and a fat blunt. chillumpuffer
Crikey it's hot. Cycled the 5 miles to the Golf club, had a round, cycled back. Had to sit in a cold shower for 5 minutes. Thankfully we live in an old stone cottage as it's really cool inside. Beers are in the freezer for sundown

chillumpuffer
Hot already. I wish the Farmer would move the sheep from the fields behind our house, as the Lambs constant bleating, makes it difficult for sleeping with the window open
DavidManchester
Newbie here, It hit 30c here in Manchester yesterday. Lot of cloud and thunder with some rain around 10pm. Back to scorchio this morning.
rm2551
It really does try to be winter here, and succeeds of a night, but had a cuppa out the back with the cheese and kisses this arvo at 3pm and had to go back inside as the afternoon sun was cooking us. Absolutely magic when the wind is not spoiling it. I do not look forward to the coming summer given how the northern hemisphere copped it this year...
