February 14th, 1975 - Grame Remaster

Recommended Posts

I just came across the Grame Remaster of this excellent 75 show and I have to say it sounds fantastic! Among others, this show has my favorite versions of Kashmir, The Rain Song, No Quarter, Dazed, Trampled and Stairway, but the Whole Lotta Love middle section is outstanding too with JPJ really funking it up! According to me ears, Jimmy plays as well in this show as any show from 73. I'm not a real big fan of 75 shows and rather prefer earlier Zeppelin, but on more than one occasion, when trying show people the greatness of Jimmy Page's live playing, I've turned to this show to do it and played them NQ, Dazed and Stairway to make my point.

^I've got the SB - Throwing the Wild Seeds - another excellent quality '75 SB if u need it Neil - give me a ping.

I gave Trampled a listen - holy crap, it is close to my new favourite. The solo guitar seems unique and some fills by Bonham are crazy unique and GOLD. The guys are in the zone (off chops?) supreme.

I've now fired Kashmir up - they have slowed the tempo down quite a lot which renders it so much heavier.

I'll need to give this whole show a go.

I just revisited this show. It's great! My favorite Trampled Underfoot and Rain Song, for sure. I also love OTHAF. Bonzo sounds like he's leaned way back in a convertible, one arm on the wheel, the other on the door, just crusin'. In My Time of Dying is great, too. Kashmir is heavy af. Graeme's remaster of the already excellent soundboard brings life and breath to this recording. Love it! In fact I love it so much, it's going to be the topic of my next podcast. I'm glad I gave this another listen. :-)

I will also post a link to the full show on my webpage, once the episode has been posted. Should be tomorrow (10/17)
