Rock Historian
:o According to Wikipedia, it was released on the 28th. I had always thought it was released on my birthday, the 23rd, because that's what it says on the inside of Mothership Anway, happy anniversary to HOTH, on whichever day it is this week October 23rd, 1973? Cool, that happens to be my B-Day too! Although I think it was released on the 22nd.
Charles_Obscure
well, on their official website, which occurs to be this very website, March 28, 1973. So, who's wrong??
Sagittarius
I've asked the man, who collects albums and knows much about them. Here is his answer about the release date. Houses Of the Holy was released on 26 March 1973 in Britain (Atlantic K 50014). And on 28 March 1973 in USA (Atlantic SD 7255). But Atlantic wrote on Mothership - 23 March 1973 - he doesn't know why. The same information there is at http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Led_Zeppelin/Discography So all the dates are right.

MadScreamingGallery
I love HOTH! Some of my favorite Zep songs: "The Song Remains the Same", "Over the Hills and Far Away", "Dancing Days", "No Quarter", and "The Ocean". 1973. Many memorable Zep 35th anniversaries this year: the concerts at the Forum, the launch of the Starship, and the three nights at MSG. Good times. I do recall years ago that they were released in the U.S. on a Wednesday. March 28, 1973 was a Wednesday, so that should close this. I am thankful for the all important Google search to resolve the matter.
