  1. Wow, 176,000 punds is NOT really that much money. I should have bought it then!
  2. This is one of my favorite shots. I took this picture from a tuk tuk three wheeler while in Dhaka, Bangladesh while on holiday in 2013. LOVE it there!
  3. I found my Seattle 77 on eBay & have seen over the years MANY zeppelin tix there. Rick Barrett (google him) is a good source for used tix as well. Its funny I've heard from a lot of guys who caught zeppelin during the 1980 tour who were in the US military.
  4. This was my very first concert. I was a freshman in HS at Schaumburg High!
  5. Any reason why Jimmy Page didn't attend or participate? Looking at Pete Townsend.... wow he looks out of his mind!
  6. I always wondered about the organ during CB too. I'd LOVE to hear an "organ/keys up" version.
  7. Of course I had to You Tube Gizmotron and what came up was this guy doing the intro It's pretty cool. I'm still looking for the "Blast-Off"....
  8. That's why I LOVE the tickets from the 1980 Euro tour. Each Zeppelin ticket was really unique, I only have a Seattle 77 ticket (and all my stubs from every gig I've seen - starting with Robert Plant in 1983) and have been searching for the Reykjavik ticket forever. Last one I saw sold on eBay was for (approx) $500 USD. A bit out of reach for me these days.
  9. after the plantation and after plant, page and jones head back stage during Moby Dick I'm out. I do come back to the final crescendo and plantation coda - i.e. John Bonham! John Henry Bonham!
  10. Anythings possible in those days - the add may have been based on someones misinterpretation or total misinformation. Some radio sales or promotions guy says run a 30 second spot on The Fudge and Zeppelin playing on the first - so that's what you do - it airs and someone was running tape.
  11. I've tried to get into this gig plenty of times (including today) - I remember having the triple LP set in the 1980's referenced above - It's just never been one of my favorite gigs. I think the Blueberry Hill gig is far superior in sound, comparing the two and listening to the fidelity only.
  12. I ws a Sophmore in HS when The Firm's first LP came out. I remember catching some shit & my buddies making fun of Radioactive,,,, but I really did like the LP and remember convincing my friends after several listening parties and smoking lots of bongs that it was good as well. The 2nd Firm LP, well..... at least weeds still good!
  13. Rolling Stones Records in Chicago, IL 1984! I was 15, my parents drove me and Randy & I bought the destroyer box set. I was in awe of how many titles there were! Before the internet you just took a chance on the sound quality and set lists (often much different on the cover than on the record!) I've bought a couple of copies of the BBC gig just under different packaging : ( The next one was In The Light & I thought ---- wow do they all sound this good? Sadly they do not.
  14. Based on the actors, subject matter & the KILLER track used in the trailer - this looks really cool! It did get me thinking - how many times has When the Levee Breaks has been used in film - I can think of Argo & now this... any other times?
  15. I'm sure this has been covered here before but Page & Donovan (I believe) first got together when he did session work on Hurdy Gurdy - Every time I play that track I imagine JP in the studio with that dragon tele just CRUSHING it! Its such a great song & Donovan has a LOT of great tracks. The British Bob Dylan they referred to him as when he first came on the scene.
  16. Ya - Lots of festivals for Zeppelin in 1969 - What a time for them and the people who got to attend those shows.
  17. Didn't Page jam with the beach boys in the 1980's & wasn't Stamos a drummer for them (the beach boys) - could the photo be from that Beach Boys gig?
  18. One of the reasons I love the medleys is that when they are playing they seem to be having so much fun, for the most part they seem unscripted and are fly by the seat of the pants - I have no idea who's leading is it Plant (i.e trying to get Ramble On off the ground on the Pb boot) or is it Page or even Bonzo from the back. Jonesy is such an accomplished musician he can keep up with anything. In any case for any medley from 1970 is going to be a good one!
  19. I LOVE Zeppelin & I LOVE the dead. And just like many fan's in both camps I have my fav touring years, LP's and songs. For me with Zeppelin it's 1970 the medleys during WLL and HMMT's are INCREDIBLE! For me with the Dead I like 1971's Not Fade Away, etc and then again in 1980 for Fire On The Mtn and Franklin's Tower. Like the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox it's ok to like both!
  20. Belle and Sebastain - Stars of Track and Field - God how I love this band and Zeppelin too - and they couldn't be farther apart!
  21. That is a KILLER shot early too one i've never seen before- any idea where/when?
