TheZeppyWanderer
I'm going to see Starship at the Robin on July 30th. I believe Grace retired in 1989 - it's Cathy Richardson in the chair now.
TheZeppyWanderer
Found one this weekend right down the road. Don't laugh but it is an openair with Manfred Mann's Earth Band on the 19th of July. Be there or be square! good stuff I'll be going to see Paul Jones (and the Blues Band) on December 19th, and Mike D'abo in March (both times at the Robin Club as usual, no surprise there)

JethroTull
I'm toying with the idea of seeing Steve Forbert in a couple of months. Due to the various phobias I've developed over attending live concerts, I first need to consult with a fortune teller to make sure it's the right thing to do. Juliet
Hi JT: Hopefully her crystal ball will say it's o.k. I have trouble with outdoor events where there is a "Johnny on the Spot" for a bathroom facility..it can also be called an outhouse... I'm a bit of a spolied brat..I perfer indoor facilites with a proper ladies room with lovely pictures on the wall and bright coloured walls. The JOTS'S has none of those things plus they are usually used by both males and females....not at the same time of course....there's no place to put my purse so I have to put it on the floor.....UGH!!!!!! I do like being outside though to hear the music...much different experience than indoor gigs...

MagnoliaMountain
I may be going to the Oasis/Ryan Adams & The Cardinals show at John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario on September 9th. Problem is, I live in Brampton (2 hour drive from London), and have no car....on top of that, trains and buses don't run after 8 at night over there....so I'm pretty much screwed for a ride, seeing as how none of my friends or family want to go with me. (Those fools!) Anyone wanna go with me??
Strider
JULY 12: SUPERGRASS at the Hollywood Avalon(formerly the Palace...where Dean Martin's tv show was filmed and where he mocked the Rolling Stones when they appeared on his show in 1964). Out of all the Brit bands that flooded the world in the early-mid 90's; Oasis, Blur, Pulp, and a gazillion others, SUPERGRASS was , and is, my favourite...well, after Radiohead that is, but then I never lumped Radiohead in with the Oasis/Blur crowd to begin with. Sharp, short, snappy, witty tunes that rock and roll and make you want to bounce around the room...yet they also have songs that spread out and get trippy and sound good on headphones. So glad they haven't thrown in the towel, as they have never received the acclaim they're due, while Coldplay reap millions.

Footsteps of Dawn
All right! Just bought my ticket for Skynyrd and Hank Jr. So the next three concerts I will be attending are: Agent 51 and Pivit (my all-time favorite local bands) Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams, Jr. Radiohead Not bad...not bad at all! What I thought was going to be a lame summer is actually turning out to be really frickin' awesome!
TelecasterShaggy
Im going to see Robert Plant and Alison Krauss on july 18th but two days ago I saw Kansas for free. I didnt like the Kansas show the guitar was turned down so low you could hardly hear it, i didnt know they played so much violin in their songs (I never got into Kansas.) After Plant/Krauss I hope to see Perpetual Groove and a local group called Kelly Ray Davis and the Money Makers, they are really good. Roxie
Robert Plant in exactly 1 week. I know I've already mentioned it on this thread, but I'm going to do it as much as I can, because after next Monday I'll never be able to say that again. (At least for a looooong time.) I didnt like the Kansas show the guitar was turned down so low you could hardly hear it, i didnt know they played so much violin in their songs (I never got into Kansas.) Kansas played a free concert at our local park last year. I think it was 3 of the original members - guitar, keyboards, and drums. The violinist was new, but quite good - as was the bassist. I thought the sound was very good, compared to other outdoor free shows I've seen recently. Not a big fan of theirs, either - but I'm definitely glad I decided to check it out. jimmie ray
I have also seen Kansas play at an out door concert and I thought they were brilliant. I really liked "Portrait" (He Knew) and "Miracles out of Nowhere", and of course they played the couple of hits they had. The guitarist (Rich ..., with the eyepatch?) seems under-rated, to me.
