  1. Nice shot, looks like Jimmy went record shopping at Tower !
  2. Wow!! That's brutal. Oops, Page and Bonzo fucked that one up, then Plant skips right to the ending verses which really screws things....as opposed to Badegholders , which Jones gaffs in the same spot.
  3. Saw it at the Carnegie Theater in Chicago in fall of 1977, just after my 11th BDay. That's how I got hooked on Zep. Wish I had a Marquee pic, but here's the ad.
  4. Just record whatever song clip you want to use to your phone, assuming you have a smart phone with an audio recording function. You can then save the file as a ring tone.
  5. That's where I read it! Damn shame. I'd still love to hear what was recorded!!
  6. I seem to recall reading that the tape ran out on Heartbreaker and no tape exists for TY and SIBLY. Anyone confirm this?? Regardless, this should be an official release. However, it's great having what's available and I fear an official release would get chopped up , altered, etc.

Never saw this pic posted here, with Rory Gallagher
  8. WTLB was my top pick too. I've used Kashmir, Custard Pie , Wanton Song. I've also used Bonzos solo ending of Dazed and Confused from TSRTS. That one startles people and makes cats scurry.
  9. Absolutely , Strider ... the vinyl has depth, space, clarity , excellent high low free balance. One of the best boots I ever bought , back in 1981 like you. I nearly wore the LPs out. I've heard TDOLZ, Empress Valley, a master>dat transfer, and the vinyl still beats them all to my ears.
  10. Possibly. I wonder if the audience made for a less memorable gig. The audience / band vibe seems a little off to me. Also, I'm sure there were less nerves around playing in front of a smaller foreign audience than making a UK comeback in front of the proverbial "ocean" at Knebworth, so they were tighter and more focused. It's pretty incredible considering they hadn't played a gig in 2 years. I would die happy if they released a full concert made up of the best songs from these shows.
  11. The Rain Song for me too. The lyricism of the melody, harmony and even Plants lyrics are all exceptionally beautiful. My favorite part is the end, the coda. That could've been the seed for another sublime tune.
  12. Agreed. Played and sung with a lot of feeling.
  13. Absolutely, I agree with this... however, there are many clams especially with Roberts vocals, and Jimmy, which would have to be fixed. I doubt they would sign off on mistakes being put out there officially, especially Robert.
  14. Thanks for the clarification, and thanks for all you've shared!
  15. I assumed this was from Knebworth rehearsals or a soundcheck because I assumed they were outside on a hot night. Weird and unprecedented way to dress for a gig, like they're just back from a day at the beach.
  16. Is this the pic you're talking about? I always wondered what the story was with this pic. Must've been a hot night!
  17. I'd go with either EAP or Winston, but each will give you different feeling as they're primary sources are different as noted by Strider and others. Personally, I love the old Cobra Standard release. The audio is bright and clear , with a great sense of atmosphere.
  18. Totally!!! Page's solo is one of his all time greatest IMO. Wish they'd do a new cut with alternate footage of the band playing. Honestly those "fantasy sequences " always bum me out as I'd much rather see them playing than watching that self-indulgent attempt at "art". Except for Bonzos which is down to earth and unpretentious.
  19. Sorry if this is an ignorant question but...was the band actually taped for projection screens , or were the images just simply projected?
  20. I like it, keeps things interesting and bizarre. Thanks for this, a breath of air...sort of fresh.

Love this! Dig the disapproving look from the lady. Wonder if this was from the ill fated Milan gig trip?
