Bro, that's what the judge decided in the Peppers case. It wasn't up to me at all.

Woodstock '99 is remembered for reports of violence, rape and fires: http://www.salon.com...9/07/29/rape_4/

I think Limp Bizkit had a lot more responsibility for the violence at Woodstock 99.

From one of your links:

Reviewers of the concert criticized Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst as "irresponsible" for encouraging the crowd toward destructive behavior.

Eyewitnesses reported a body-surfing woman being pulled down into the crowd and gang-raped in the moshpit during Limp Bizkit's set.

A sexual relationship? I don't believe it, 14 is very young.

This just sounds like tabloid bs to me. If that had happend this would have turned out like a Roman Polanski case I'm sure. Any young fan will claim something just for attention. Even Justin Beiber is now defending himself against these types of claims.

Yes she was very young but we're talking about the '70's here and while it was no less an issue then as it is now it did happen and the tabloids had nothing to do with it.

They made silly choices IMO but that was many years ago and I'm sure that if they had their time over they may not have made them.

Then again who knows?

You have no proof Lori was his girlfriend so no he can't add Jimmy to that list

Look man, I like Zeppelin a lot but I'm not going to let that get in the way of the fact that Page dated a 14 year old. It's common knowledge if you're a big fan tbh.

Look, I don't want to shatter your illusions, and I know that (unlike say Gene Simmons) there has been no irrefutable video evidence to confirm this, but ....how can I put this?...married men are not always faithful to their wives. Even Rock Gods are fallible, and occasionally succumb to temptation.

(Gene's reputed 5,000+ dalliances were ok btw, because he wasn't married at the time.)

I daresay that half of them were solo dalliances!? ;)

Sex outside of marriage isn't "ok", and if his dalliances were married he's very guilty - remember Proverbs 12:4 !

Led Tiki, you're winding us up, aren't you? Taking the piss, so-to-speak? I find it hard to believe you don't know about Lori Mattix, aka Maddox. Even casual Zep fans know about Jimmy and Lori by now.

FYI, that interview in that video clip is slightly suspect. From all accounts that I've heard and read, Lori was not a virgin when she met Jimmy, as David Bowie and Angie Bowie had previously shared her.

And I thought it was 1972 when Jimmy and Lori first met? I seem to recall a photo of Bonzo escorting Lori into, or out of, a club during their 1972 tour stop in LA. Maybe David Zoso can find the photo?

It was around 72' 73' from what I've read and gathered in the video-I think they mention a year? It's not that hard to imagine-really. ( I agree Strider), I find it hard to believe that someone (Zep fan) doubts or doesn't know of this, but hey - that's all part of being here- you learn about things you didn't know. And I think there's enough evidence there to even "read between the lines" if you had too. It was a different time back then. No tabloids, media frenzies (to the extent that they have now), no ENews Entertainment and all that other bullshit you see now-where noboby in the public eye can get away with takin a shit in a public restroom without being on film. Plenty of Rock Stars, Movie Stars, etc. did this with no repercussions. If you watch any of the clips of Lori Maddox, you can tell that she was (maybe still is) in Love with JP. She has nothing but good things to say about him, in a very emotional way. I'd venture to say-they were an "item".

So what about a guy like me? I've never been married but I really want to be. I've had sex outside of marriage, but I don't see how you can avoid it. Unless everyone is supposed to get married when they are 14, how do you avoid sex outside of marriage?

Are you saying that you have never had sex outside of marriage?

Like divorce, sex outside of marriage as a norm is a product of recent world history. I am a product of recent world history and have many serious regrets that my mother didn't have ... if we care about our children and their future we will raise them in a different world than the one we're living in now, with higher expectations regarding their self-control and enormous seriousness regarding relationships and marriage.

And I dislike any rockstar that disagrees with me on this subject. :soapbox:

:ahhh:

well, i have been a fan of led zeppelin since i first heard them in about 1974ish, but i didn't know ANYTHING about the band, including the stuff about lori, until i joined this forum in 2007!

I'm not sure where I first heard of her but I'm guessing it was in the pages of Creem, Circus, Hit Parader, etc. back in the 1970s.

You guess correctly...all the rock magazines back in the day had photos of them, especially Rock Scene, Hit Parader, and Star magazines, as those mags were particularly geared towards gossip.

In fact, when you hear all those old groupies of the 70s talk about how they were "models", what they usually mean is that their pictures would appear in Star magazine of them at some club or party. Then, rock stars would see these pictures when they came to the States, call up the magazine and ask who so-and-so is on page 69 and set up a meeting.

Then there was Rodney and his gaggle of teen and preteen glam gals holding court at Rodney's English Disco, all ripe for the plucking.

It truly was a different time back then. Not saying it was right or moral...that's just the way it was.

i lived in a little country town in australia, and we didn't get many rock magazines in the newsagency. i didn't even know what the guys looked like for quite a long time.

yes, the 70's were a different time to now. not better, righter or more moral, but different.

and thought it may surprize some people .... yes, there were girls aged 14 and younger having sex. then and now!

Nor did I. I had been listening to them for several years before I starting picking up copies of some of the rock n' roll magazines I previously mentioned. It was only then that I found out what Led Zeppelin looked like and that that was them on the cover of Led Zeppelin II (though I'd always had my suspicions).

I don't think that's really the alarming part, it's the fact that Page was having sexual relations with underage girls.

Led Tiki...how the hell did this thread get so off track?? What these "Rock Stars" did or did not due on a personal level is their business. They also have children and I would hate to think that this forum and the things stated ever gets read by them. It's enough that the rag magazines printed this stuff. Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes, God knows I still make personal mistakes that I have to live with. Point is they are personal mistakes.

I am not stating that these things are moral, and I am far from perfect and admit it.

The two I posted a few pages back that I dislike is due to their music. You are just stirring things up IMHO! Why do you continue this pattern??

definately agree with you deb!

none of us are perfect angels, and it must be awful for famous people to have to have this kind of thing rehashed all the time. i'm sure it must be the worst part of fame.

hope i haven't contributed to that! i was just trying to get across how not everyone had access to this kind of knowledge back then. as i said, i knew pretty much zero about the band till 2007, just knew that i loved their music ( which is the main thing after all! )

:toast:

cheers
