Celebrity VIPs and empty seats outrage

Recommended Posts

The empty seat thing....

I was in section 405 and noticed that the 2 rows in front of me had one empty seat in each row plus the row I was in had an empty seat. Was it possible that each row had an odd number of seats and since everyone bought 2 seats this would leave one "extra"? wouldn't it have been better to sell single seats? I'm pretty sure someone would have bought them....just wondering?? actually, it gave people a place to put their coats, so I guess it's better a fan didn't get to see the show of a lifetime.... somebody didn't think that one out....

I was in 413, and we got our tickets in the 3rd Ballot. They were single seats only and I got one in row J and my Girlfriend one in row F. We thought that it may be possible to switch our seats on the night so we could sit together, but since all the people around were in pairs this was not possible.

So yes, at least some of the rows had single seats which were not released in the 1st ballot.

You would have thought that the organisers (or ticketmaster) would have known this and allocated seats on this basis.

I was lucky - I was there. But ANY empty seat is such a waste.

Interesting that the level 4 upper tier was packed to the rafters, doesn't take a genius to work out the general public were all shoved up there first, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Indi.

Ditto about the upper tier. I was stuck down there as everyone else who won the 2nd ballot I think. Even though it didn't diminish the effect of the greatest night of my life, i was well pissed off at the empty seats. The upper tier filled up to the ceiling before the 7pm start, whereas lots of boxes were empty. People in the lower tiers turned up at 9.

Another point - what is wrong with the people constantly going in and out during Zeppelin? There were two people next to me who got up to go to the loo/whatever every second song. Seriously! The dude missed the intro to STH. I would rather die!

Well after months of not daring to move in case the paps photograph him 'being unfaithful' to his as yet undivorced one-legged wilderbeast, the sex-Beatle has been getting back in the game big-style pumpiing anything with a pulse and I wouldn't have been surprised if he didn't at least offer Paris Hilton a look at the fifth Beatle in the gents under the auspices, initially, of skinning up a fat one.

Great- maybe she was smokin' with him. ;)

wow, sorry, I didn't mean to piss off so many ph fans. Bottom line, I sincerely hope she realizes how F*CKING lucky she was to be there, and not blow it off as 'another thing I get to/have to go to'.

David Groehl sounded sincere, happy and like almost anyone one of us, like we were 15 and seeing Zep for the first time right after Zep IV came out.

She's baggage, excess baggage at best, and if Sir Paul did indeed fire one up, good on him. I'm 12 years sober and I think if I was there and I had to be around her, I'd be going through rehab all over again. Sorry, people like her, who feel the world should gawk at their every bowel movement piss me off beyond comprehension. Maybe this will open her eyes to them, buy some of their, wait.. have someone buy their albums for her.

On the list of people who deserved to be there, to me, she is on the bottom, nah, she fell off the f*ckin list.

It's too late, Bridge. Your days are obviously numbered around here. Didn't you realise that this used to actually be the Paris Hilton official website. It was just renamed because surveys revealed the 97% crossover between Zep and Paris afficianados. There's only one thing to do now for you and that's to quietly resign, get a new ISP and computer (so that your IP address is brand-new) and then come back in a blaze of glory with startling revelations about Paris' hush-hush charity work.

wow, sorry, I didn't mean to piss off so many ph fans.

Further to the Macca potsmoking report, we now have one with pictures:

http://www.centralstation.com.au/articles/...asp?newsid=6751

And this from Blend Music:

" According to British publication The Mirror, Sir Paul McCartney was spotted at Led Zeppelin’s reunion show on Monday night enjoying a big fat marijuana cigarette. At which point the police were called, the show shut down, Macca escorted away in handcuffs and…uh, no. Nothing was done to halt the illegal activity, as the discreet staff at the O2 Arena allegedly told Paul, “It’s okay, you’re a legend.”

A legendary pothead, that is. The former Beatle has never made any secret of his love for the drug, which was famously introduced to the band by Bob Dylan in 1966. Macca was an active supporter Legalise Marijuana Campaign and helped pay for a 1967 editorial in the London Times calling for the release of all convicts of pot related charges. McCartney also has the distinction of being busted for possession more times than any other major rock star. He was fined for smuggling hashish into Sweden in 1972, ran afoul of authorities in Scotland for marijuana possession that same year, and was caught in Scotland again for growing the plant on the highlands farm he shared with first wife Linda in 1973. McCartney’s most renowned brush with the law is his 1980 arrest and subsequent deportation in Japan for bringing half a pound of weed into the country. Half a pound! Did he want to smoke out the entire population?

Despite soon to be ex-second wife Heather Mills’ prenuptial request that Paul quit his daily blazing, old habits are hard to kick (unlike bitchy ex-wives). While I could be jealous that Paul is free to puff a doob in full view while I can’t even smoke a cig within 20 feet of my local Starbucks, I can take solace in the fact that not only has Paul taken one for the team on numerous occasions, but that he knows what us Zep fans have always known: “Dazed and Confused” sounds even awesomer when you’re baked. either she is a Led Zeppelin fan (doubt it) or she just went for publicity like all the others except for Dave Grohl and other musical artists.

I don't see why the fact that Paris Hilton might be into Led Zeppelin is such an alien concept.

Alcohal consumption, especially in Britain, is kind of like the state "religion", isn't it ? ? So what do ya expect ? ? ? Even when it's Led Zeppelin... "It's just another night out...at the Pub...for many, many fans!! :D

First Things First --- And for many folks, that would be Drinking. Whether it's sports or music, it's all about the alcohal for many many fans.... It's that Nice !!

Whereas, drinking was Always secondary to me. Fact is... at most concerts I attended, I never drank.

Because, it's -not- just another night out at the pub. I went, not to drink, I went to experience the music. I drank when I went to titty bars, and out by the pool in the summer, and shit like that. Never been part of the "pub" scene. Music is my first love.. :D

It's true and the O2's short history has been swimming in alcohol-related complaints from music fans. Certainly a lot of Prince's hardcore fans were well pissed off at the beered up antics of the casual and curious who were at his shows in the the summer. But then that's one of the things about the O2. It's so well connected and convenient for transport that you could come out of work on a Friday in the summer and just treat a night out there as LIKE going to the pub.

Plus they don't stick it to you so much on prices like many other venues.

But yeah...alcohol at arenas is never good for the music although it's pretty essential for balancing the books.

This is such a bunch of shit!!! Empty seats, celebs getting free tickets, Paris Hilton!!! Paris belongs at a Hanna Montana show with all the other dumb little girls who whine like spoiled little bitches. I think she would fit in there cos she was the same IQ as a seven year old and acts like one. Celeb prices should have been doubled so they could raise more money for the Fund, because they can afford it. Like I've said before- just because you have your face on the cover of People magazine you shouldn't get special treatment. And all of the empty seats should've been offered to people wanting to get in out side the venue. There should've been a policy that if you weren't there by a certain time you lost your seats and would get a refund for what you paid and the seats would go to someone waiting outside. I've been to concerts where they were selling extra tickets to people who walked in and where they've moved people from the nose bleeds to better seats when they were empty.

You're killin' me LadyRaven.... I just took my kids to a Hannah Montana show... :o

Please don't give Paris any ideas. ;)

oh and for the record(not that you were directing it my way) my kids are well-deserving smart young ladies.

But back to the topic... empty seats. That's such a bummer, I'm sure there were still a ton of locals who could have filled them.... Was there any sort of line outside to buy remaining tickets from the 02, or was it "sold out"?

I've already voiced my opinions on the celeb thing.

so I won't say anymore about it except I do think (alot of them) do have to fork over a donation.

On the empty seats- thats the first I've heard- & Your breaking my heart!!! :boohoo:

I would have taken anytthing!!!!

U & me both!!!

Matter of fact, it all comes down to, luck of the draw (supposedly)~perhaps who U know, oh yes and high profile staty along with awholelotta $$$ would get u in?

Have I left something out?...I am still in a state of shock & disbelief over not being there~I suspect I will not recover~EVER~

I am not feel'n much better about things now that i KNOW there were seats available...I was willing up to the last minute to hop a plane but was concerned I would not find a ticket... :(

Unreal~ <_<

I have been hoping for this reunion for 27 yrs along with millions of world wide LONG time fans...some of the people who won that chance scalped tix, went because they werre curious what the hooplah was about or some other lame ass thing~am I just a bit bitter?

Knowing now there were empty seats????

U might say that I am a bit put off by that~ 2 say the least
