Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
"With a purple operator and a 50-cent head" (I'm still not exactly sure what the real lyrics are, but I don't listen to Livin' Lovin' Maid very often, lol) I heard the exact same thing too! Coda.S
OMG! You too??! Wow! And I really got a shock when I googled the lyrics for "Trampled Under Foot"...when I found that "voice" was "valves" all along! And when I thought the line was "baby, let me check your voice"...I used to picture Robert as this blond, sexy Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist!! I got the same shock when I read the lyrics!! and even after knowing that it is "valves" I still hear it eveytime I listen to it "voice"
BIGDAN
Hi T Y'All "In The Light", Misses BIGDAN sings "Shoo Bop A Do" because it sounds better than "Sure muff they do". Regards, Danny Edited August 5, 2010 by BIGDAN
Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
You know, I never actually sat down and read the lyrics for Trampled Underfoot until recently. The innuendo was about as subtle as a brick to the forehead. Yep! Tell me about it! After detailed examination of the lyrics to "Trampled Under Foot"...I found it to be pretty sexy... Before I really knew what the actual lyrics were, it seemed to be a nice, little "innocent song" with awesome key board and guitar parts...but not anymore!! Bonzo2000
"With a purple operator and a 50-cent head" (I'm still not exactly sure what the real lyrics are, but I don't listen to Livin' Lovin' Maid very often, lol) I think its 50 cent hat, but I always thought it was 50 cent hand, as in a very poor poker hand not worth betting more than a half-dollar on... I still sing purple operator instead of umbrella!! Sooo funny Edited August 5, 2010 by Bonzo2000
zeppelincheetah
Woah! You heard that too? Gosh! I thought I was the only one who heard that! Because Robert's wails in that song make the word "shore" sound like shooouuutttt!!!! weird. immigrant song is one i never had a problem understanding. well i'm a history and geography buff and the song is titled "immigrant song" and it's about vikings. western shore makes sense 'cause vikings conquered western lands, first iceland then greenland then briefly part of present-day Canada (they beat the Spanish to the Americas by hundreds of years!). i LOVE that song and lyrically it's way up there as one of my favs. as far as misunderstood lyrics i had trouble with (still have trouble with) a lot of songs. I don't know the lyrics to probably 40% of the songs... one I misunderstood is I'm Gonna Crawl, which is one of my favorite songs. "if i dream too much tonight, somebody please bring me down" I thought it was "drink" instead of "dream". "i pray the love won't die" i thought was "i pray the love of god" i was disappointed that the first lyric wasn't drink but the second one is much better the way it is than what i heard it to be
BlackDog71
"if i dream too much tonight, somebody please bring me down" I thought it was "drink" instead of "dream". "i pray the love won't die" i thought was "i pray the love of god" I thought the exact same thing for both of these lyrics for the longest time. I still hear it when I listen to them. Good to know I am not the only one. One I always had trouble with was: In Down By The Seaside: "Can the people hear, What the little fish are sayin'" always sounded to me like "Can the people hear, What the little fishy's sayin." I think it's the way Robert sings that line. Either way, my lyric sounds like it belongs in a kids song.
SickTangerine
Living Loving Maid I heard "With a purple umbrella and a fist in hell" Trampled Underfoot I mess up on most of the lyrics lol

luvlz2
"What is and what should never be" -- "Kissiwin siss-pin sail away leave the day way up high in the sky"(lol) I used to think The Beatles song "Paperback Writer" was a song about a car...Instead of saying "Paperback Writer", I used to think they were saying "Take The Back Right Turn", lol! Bill
In Trampled Underfoot the line is "Baby let me check your points". Robert repeated that verse a few times during the '75 tour after they were done playing TU and that's what he said. Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
While listening to "Nobody's Fault But Mine", today, I heard the first line as : Nobody's Fault But Mine, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Try To Save My Sordid Life! I was like This has never happened to me before!
sbaur9
I thought it was 'Oh Georgina' me too!!! and it made sense with the 'ohh, ohhh' moaning after singing that! towards the end of The Ocean when the doo wop doo harmony is being done by JB and JPJ, for the longest time i thought RP was singing 'she walks innnn, she walks innn, she walks inn...'! zdr
I heard "Oh Georgina' too. Today, while STH was playing, I realized that I always heard "Your head is humid" (I've read the lyrics the other days and that line remained until now in a corner of the brain, for comparison).
