Biden's smirking and laughing probably made people who were already going to vote for Obama smirk and laugh, but turned off those in the middle in the process. I thought a tie would go to Ryan tonight and he did a bit better than that. By the way, funny that the dems have spent the last week claiming that Romney lied last week, then Biden claims he voted against Afghanistan and Iraq when in reality he supported both. I personally like Joe Biden, always have. They both were very strong in this debate. Biden was rude, aggressive, a bully, didn't wait his turn to speak. Seems to me he successfully used the same strategy as Romney did. By the way, I'm still waiting for that plan. I guess we'll see it after the election. I think Ryan has a lot of balls to bring up compromising in Congress when half his party have signed pledges to the Koch brothers. Oh the irony ! I've met Mitt Romney, and I really don't have that much of a problem with him. The thought of a Republican controlled Presidency and Congress however is enough to make me puke. No way to really know what to think of it yet because it doesn't fully go into effect until 2014, conveniently well past the election for 0 if he is reelected and voters find out how the law will actually affect them. True. I've seen some things down the road in there I wasn't too pleased with. Seems both parties are hell-bent on eventually taxing health-care benefits from employers as income. If that's the case, I sure hope they plan on creating or expanding some kind of tax deduction when that occurs. No matter your opinion on the issue, one thing is for sure. I have always been a dem but I am thinking now of going independant. I am going with Romney for sure. I do not trust Obama one bit. I remember all those people beating their chests about how great he was going to be. And sure it was good to have either a black president or a woman. Just not him. Condi Rice probably would have been a good choice to fill both if such things must occur just to make things appear totally fair. I am not impressed with the alliances Obama has chosen. I wont name them. You know damn well who they are. My vote will not count. I am in a blue state in a red zone. But Ill go do the right thing and vote. And give someone else a chance to get it right. One less voter registered as a Democrat or Republican. Now if only we could get an independent candidate in the oval office or take the Dems/Republicans out of the House and/or Senate. Biden interrupted Ryan upwards of 80 times in 90 minutes, Ryan, only 6 times. Joe was supposed to come out strong, but - not surprisingly - he way overdid it, turning people, particularly women, off. He gratified the base, but did nothing to change the polls. I seriously believe this election will be a Romney landslide victory, and I mean landslide on a Reagan-esque level. For those of you that were around back then, it was heated arguments every day. Remember? Poor old Hermit was the ringleader of that circus and I think many including myself were quite crazy on the matter and unrestrained to say the least. Now he has a record of failure and is basically running on the idea that he is less horrible than Romney. This is genuinely the biggest joke of an election imaginable. Obama is hiding from his record as a Communist (which he was openly for many years), political rapist who forces his policies on America despite massive opposition by the people and economic failure. Romney is hiding from a heavily Liberal\Socialist record that saw the enacting of most of Obama's national failures on the state level as Governor of Massachusetts. Neither can run on a record of success or good America friendly ideas so it's nothing but "I'm less of a bum than my opponent." Neither saying "Forward" instead of "Change" nor claiming being a rich investor qualifies you to be the head of the national executive branch of the Government. That's why I'm not voting. Romney is much more than a "rich investor". It takes acute business acumen to take the kind of actions he did with Bain, for instance. Detailed analyses of expenses, efficiency, productivity and much more are required to make final decisions on whether to liquidate or reformate a particular company. Sometimes, these businesses could not be saved, and were liquidated. Many others became huge successes through Bain's involvement - Staples and The Sports Authority are 2 notable examples. It takes a much greater understanding of economics and industry to do this than to simply operate any single business. This "big picture" understanding is what uniquely qualifies him to get this country turned around economically. If you were to suddenly inherit a multi-million dollar business operation that you knew yourself to be unqualified to operate successfully, who would you hire? A person with vast experience operating similar businesses, or a person with experience mostly amounting to organizing and leading demonstrations outside such businesses? That is a basic characterization of what this election boils down to. Obama spends more time (read - ALL of his time) re-interpreting what Romney's plan may or may not be, which is his way of avoiding the fact that he has had 4 years to implement his plan, and failed. He only offers variations of what he promised in 2008 and failed to achieve. And then he tries to get Romney to detail exact numbers and calculations regarding his plan, while he basically ran on no more than "Hope and Change", "Yes, we can!", and "I'm not Bush!" in 2008. And the media didn't challenge ANY of that. In addition, Obama is making the same accusations against Romney that were levelled against him in 2008, i.e., no real plan, no experience, etc. Incredibly (LOL), while the media pooh-poohed such accusations when made against Obama in '08, they are suddenly actively addressing such charges now that Obama is making them. The bottom line is, Obama is doing the very thing he claimed Republicans were doing in 2008. In effect, he was giving us a preview of what his 2012 campaign would consist of. "If you don't have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare the voters," he proclaimed, "If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from." DAS Posted October 17, 2012 Author Share Posted October 17, 2012 Obama and Romney: Both enacted socialized medicine Both support the radical homosexual agenda (I don't just mean marriage I mean interfering in private business to give gays their way and putting propaganda in schools) Both have forced or supported forcing private religious charities and business to violate their religious convictions by doing they regard as immoral Both raised and created unnecessary taxes Both failed to improve or actually worsened their respective economies Both have a history of nominating mostly or exclusively liberal judges Both are/were openly in favor of abortion on demand and are in favor of Roe v Wade and state funding for abortions Both were supporters of amnesty Both have supported restricting the carbon output of private citizens and businesses in the US Both support expanding the federal government's control over our children's eductaion Both have tried to legislatively censor protesters who oppose their ideas (case in point the no protestors within' X amount of distance around abortion clinics) There is plenty more but this point everyone gets the point. They are not the exact same candidate and certainly Romney is less horrible and a little more qualified but Mitt Romney is still a liberal and holds more common ground with the Liberal Socialists than with the general American populace.
