Nice week, jabe. Good work with the numbers, Paul. Too bad about your Dolphins getting thrashed on National TV.

Damn Walter's Cowboys! Damn Cincinnati...what kind of 3-0 team loses to the Browns? The Bungles, that's who. I still make that Tampa pick...but then, that's why I hate teams like Tampa and Arizona and Cleveland. They suck, but they're just mediocre enough to win once in a while and fuck up your picks.

BOO RAIDERS! HOORAY BEER!

So, I'm sitting at 10-4 along with jabe going into tonight's game at the Superdome in the Big Easy. I think Brees is going to hook him some 'Fins!

Who Dat Nation threw those fins back in the water!!!! The Cool Brees can't be stopped!!! Who Dat?!!!! :hurrah::hurrah:

Some crazy lines this week. I am shocked that the Bills are getting 4 1/2 at Cleveland. Shocked that Denver is minus 8 1/2 AT Dallas. Yes AT Dallas. That means alot. I will take Dallas and 8 at home, I do not care how good Peyton is. They will not be able to stop Dallas's offense. So it may be a shootout at the OK Corral but 8 is too many in a game Dallas could win outright. Some people will think New England is a gift at a pick at Cincy. Not me. The Raiders are getting 5 at home. In kicks the AFC West theory that is simply mind boggling over the years. Back in the 80's someone pointed it out. An AFC West team getting points at home vs another AFC West team was like 90 percent over a 20 year span. And to this day it still works most of the time. Yes its hard to take the Raiders. But history says they will at least put up a fight and cover.

Rick, check the sportsbook thread.

Management is giving you a 1000 point marker, since Strider received one early on.

They are adding an extra 1000 points each to Paul and jabe's balance.

Tell us you're in, man. I'm gonna need those extra points in mid November.

I was tempted to take a shot with the Texans also. So you must believe the 49ers are not only way overated, and it was no fluke that Indy went in there and kicked their butts. To me the strangest outcome of any game yet this year. So how good are these 49ers with this QB the media are ready to crown the next great QB in this league? Even better than Luck. Not much talk about my boy Manuel and I think that is unfair. He has beaten Baltimore and a good Carolina team and had New England and the Jets on the ropes. Defense to blame for those loss's. Yet I heard Fitz did pretty good in Tennessee the other day. He can stay there

Week 5 schedule:

Walter's picks in red:

Buffalo at Cleveland - Cleveland (sorry Rick, still not buying into the Bills)
New Orleans at Chicago - New Orleans (smell a Chicago upset though)
New England at Cincinnati - Cincinnati (Pats have to lose sometime and these Bengals are so up and down)
Detroit at Green Bay - Green Bay (rested and ready after a bye week)
Kansas City at Tennessee - Kansas City (too much KC defense and good ball control offense)
Seattle at Indianapolis - Seattle (tough game to call - Seattle needs to step it up on offense)
Jacksonville at St. Louis - St. Louis (Jax is God awful)
Baltimore at Miami - Miami (Baltimore is looking rough on both sides of the ball right now)
Philadelphia at NY Giants - NY Giants (go with the home team)
Carolina at Arizona - Carolina (Arizona looked bad just squeaking by a horrible TB team last week)
San Diego at Oakland - San Diego (Rivers looks like Superman right now)
Denver at Dallas - Denver (who can stop this Manning train? Not the Cowboy's swiss cheese secondary!)
Houston at San Francisco - San Francisco (Houston is not behind Schaub after last week)

NY Jets at Atlanta - Atlanta (just what the dr. ordered for the under-achieving Falcons, and right before their bye week)

Beat the world champions and you are not buying that they can beat Cleveland? Ha. Ok. We are going to stomp the shit out of them

I bought into them beating the Jets in NJ and they lost....so until they get more consistent, I don't buy that they are going to beat a team with a better defense on the road. I hope, for your sake, they prove me wrong. Actually now that I think of it, you are better off with me not picking them - based on my current W/L record! :)

They only lost to the Jets due to that rookie in the secondary blowing that play. Cleveland is not known for its passing game. I will admit, if Jareus Byrd plays it will make a world of difference. Even McKelvin. They have 3 starters out in the secondary. But the front line has been very good. Searcy, Dareus on the line and Alonso at MLB have been great. If Spiller or Jackson are a go, we have Woods and Stevie and Chandler to attack them with and I like our chances big time.

Hi,

Strider asked me to post his pick for tonight's game, as he's not sure he'll have internet access by game time. He'll post the rest of his picks when he gets access.

Strider's pick for tonight:

Buffalo

Thatta boy Strider!!!!!

Cleveland is one of those teams that always screws me over, especially when I pick them to win. So, since my first instinct was to pick Cleveland, I reversed myself and did the opposite, picking Buffalo.
