What I hate is that so many phases in society are using Covid as a "crutch"  or an excuse for their laziness and failures.  They are even blaming it for price increases across the board.  When are they going to wake up.   And the real estate market , at least here in NY, are just off the charts nuts.  The price to buy or rent is off the charts.  I am so sick of Covid being used as an excuse for all else.   

Also, I am wondering if the masks are worth the while?   Now I know they can help with colds and things like that.  But are they really stopping you from getting Covid if some asshole has it and walks into a store knowing he has it?

As I've said from the beginning (as an Environmental Health Specialist), the only thing those masks do is prevent large droplets of saliva from entering someone else's breathing space.  The size of the virus itself will slip right through the material of the mask, so no, it won't protect you or stop you from spreading the virus.

The Covid virus is about 0.1 micrometers in diameter.  An N95 mask filters down to (at best) 0.3 micrometers.  A cloth mask...fugetabout it!  TO protect yourself and others from the virus, you would need a full face respirator with particulate cartridges or better, a supplied air respirator (like they use at the CDC).

Again, those cloth and paper masks will protect you and others from getting the saliva and mucus from others coughing and sneezing and putting water droplets in the air - which range from 74-360 micrometers in size.
