Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Well, in the song "For Your Life", I either hear C-Cook It or C-Cocaine! How the hell can someone actually cook that stuff? Isn't it illegal?! Sheesh! Also do you guys also hear the words Fuckin' Mama in one part of the song, or do my ears need a bit of cleaning? Damn! The lyrics to that song are so colorful! BTW, that song for some reason makes me want to get as "high" as a kite!

"For Your Life" You said I was the only, With my lemon in your hand Exhibition is your habit, Emotion second hand. Had to pull away to save me, Maybe next time around And she said, 'don't you want it? Don't you want cocaine-cocaine-cocaine Hadn't planned to, could not stand to try it, fry it, na na na yeah. Heard a cry for mercy, In the city of the damned Oh oh babe, damned. Down in the pits you go no lower The next stop's underground. Oh, hello underground. Wine and roses ain't quite over, fate deals a losing hand And I said: didn't mean to... did not mean to fail You didn't plan it, you over-ran it You wanna do it, you wanna You wanna do it when you wanna You wanna do it, do it when you wanna When you blow it, babe, You got to blow it right Oh baby, if you fake it, mama, Baby, fake with all your might When you fake it, mama, Please fake it right (for yourself babe) When you fake it baby, You're fakin' it for your life, for your life, for your life, for your life Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, Do it when you wanna Do it, do it, do it, Do it when you wanna Oh, I can have you, baby, But I don't know what to do, yeah Sometime, baby, nothin' I could do On the balance of a crystal, Payin' through the nose And when they couldn't resist you, I thought you'd go with the flow. And now your stage is empty, bring down the curtain, baby please. Fold up your show Hadn't planned to, Could not stand to fry in it Hadn't planned it, I over-ran it, (fryin) For your life, For your life. Kind Regards, Danny Hi Danny, Well, I gave "For Your Life" another listen just now and about 3 minutes and 29 seconds into the song, I still heard "Fuckin' Mama" Somehow the words of that song have always remained a mystery to me but thanks for clearing that up! And I didn't know you could actually "cook" cocaine! LOL! And I don't think I ever want to find out how, either! Yikes! Damn! The lyrics to songs like "Trampled Under Foot" seem so tame compared to this! But to be honest, I love this song even more, now! Cheers! Ross62
I never really thought this lines were real, but they seem funny if I think of them, but I rarely think of them, because I enjoy the music and the actuall lyrics so much, I don't have time to think of this funny misunderstandings I tought of trough the years and ofcourse I am a total and dedicated fan and this is not meant to be disrespectful to Zepl!! Babe I'm gonna leave you: ''I ain't joking woman, I'm god to Rambo!!'' Heartbreaker: ''Hey faggots have you heard the news, our Anus is back in town!'' and ''People talking all around how you left my flat!!'' In my time of dying: ''A my teeth ache, a my teeth ache!!'' :hysterical: :hysterical: That is some funny stuff Matjaz1. Thanks for the laugh! Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
Well, I've got another one! Today, while I played "Physical Graffiti" in the stereo located in the living room, my mom said that she thought she heard Robert distinctly say "Oh My Cheese, Eh?" in the song "In My Time Of Dying". LOL! I didn't know what to say, honestly! And she even told me "Damn! That man must love Cheese!"

Kiwi I got it Kiwi, you hear "Fuckin' Mama" at 3 minutes and 29 seconds into the song, but what RP actually says is "If you fake it, mama," have another listen and let me know if you can fit it in wont you? When you "cook cocaine" you get "crack cocaine" and I assume RP is referring to that. Kind Regards, Danny

SharPei_Ibuprofin
Right after that haunting intro in No Quarter when things get all eerie and tense, I used to think Plant was saying, "close the door, pull out the light -- Odie won't be home tonight..." I was a little kid, so I was pretty sure the song had something to do with Garfield and lasagna.

BlackDog71
One that always had me tripped up was from "Four Sticks": When he says "Oh, baby, it's cryin' time" I always heard and sang: "Oh, baby, it's gonna die!" I still don't hear the world cryin' at all when I listen to it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another one from "The Battle of Evermore": When they say: "Oh, dance in the dark night, sing to the morning light." I always thought it was: "Oh, dance in the dark light, sing to the modern life." Again....no idea why!

BlackDog71
Definitely hear 'DOUBLE D' in Darlene... Robert a Boob man by any chance... Add that to the list of lyrics I used to hear. Well.....still hear, actually. Just thought of another one: From "Whole Lotta Love": I always thought the lyric: "You need coolin', baby, I'm not foolin'," sounded like: "You need Kool-Aid', baby, I'm not foolin'," I knew that wasn't the lyric but it always sounds like that to me. Even to this day I still hear it.
Lëah Lilith Eleida
At first, I always heard 'please, hey, would we care' from Misty Mountain Hop as 'please, hey, whoopie cat'. And... 'Still by the firelight, and purple moonlight. I hear the rested rivers call' from The Rover as 'Stare by the pond light, and Papa's moonlight. I hear the rusted reversed call'. cheesehead1204
I've always found these lines in When The Levee Breaks hard to decipher: If you're going down south They got no work to do If ____________ Chicago I've always had trouble understanding what Plant says about Chicago. I usually hear "If you're going down to Chicago", but that doesn't make much sense, since you're "going down south". I've read lyrics sites say the line is "If you don't know about Chicago", but I can't quite pull that from what I hear in the song; that's not what it sounds like to me. What do you guys think? I have read the same "If you don't know about Chicago" lyrics as well, and for all I know, it's correct. It just never sounds like that to me. It never will, either. I have to agree with you on this. It's never really sounded like the "correct" lyrics to me, either. Not one bit.
cheesehead1204
I've heard Plant and Alison Krauss perform When The Levee Breaks. Alison sings the song and she says "So you go north to Chicago". Still not convinced this is what Plant sings in the original but I do seem to hear him say "north", so it's plausible.
