My brother is on some Beacon list. He got tickets in the 2nd row of the Loge, which for the Beacon are damn good. Still, I'm going to see what pops up on Saturday.

And I agree, it's likely another ill-fated marketing strategy from our "friends" at LN/TM.

That's exactly what I got- 2nd row of the Loge also.

I've always wondered about these presales though- I have gotten through within a few minutes of the sale time yet only get tickets that are nowhere near the front. I guess they only have a certain section of tickets available for the presale & reserve the rest for the general public sale.

Right now for The Beacon, the best available are the upper reaches of the Upper Balcony. I think I'll wait till Saturday and try when they go on sale. Better opportunity then. Besides, there's only a certain amount of tix that are set aside for these presales.

Anyone know roughly what percentage of tix are set aside for these presales? Probably more for an AMEX presale is my guess.

You're very welcome! Congrats on the second child and enjoy the show!

Thanks very much! I definitely will, and baby gets a early jump on great music too! :baby::stereo:

Funny thing is- I checked my email a few hours later after getting my tickets and ended up getting my AMEX presale invite code after all. I tried using it this evening to see what seats might still be available- nothing for block of 3.

I might try to see what the general sale provides for as I ended up with Upper Balcony, although with the Beacon that's still not bad.

I didn't see there was a presale for The Beacon for AMEX. Only a general presale on Ticketmaster which runs through tomorrow till 10 pm. Do you have any more info on this? Otherwise, I'll just wait until Saturday for the general sale.

Hi all. New to the forum, glad to be here.

I was able to get seats to the Beacon in NYC. 8 seats in total.....2 in Orch., 4 in Loge, & 2 in the balcony. I had to Google for the password for the presale as Ticketmaster did not send me the pw until 11:27, almost 1/2 hr. past the time tix went on sale. Even stranger was that I searched for 8 tix first....couldn't get them. Went down to 6, no luck. Went to 4 & scored the loge seats. Then I started over for another 4 tix....no luck, so I went down to 2 & got the balcony seats. I then tried for another 2 and scored the orchestra seats. To top it all off I searched for Best Available each time and got the best seats (orch.) last. Weird!!!

Super Dave.....not sure if you remember (it was a little, err um, smoky that night after the show) but my bud & I hung with you & Thorzep (or Zepthor) after Mr. Plants show at the Bowery Ballroom this past Sept. What a great show that was!!! I've seen every tour by Mr. Plant since the demise of Zeppelin, & except for the Page/Plant shows I went to, the show at the Bowery was my fave. I think seeing him in such a intimate venue was what made it so enjoyable!

How are people getting these presale codes?

Hi Jahfin,

I usually get the presale password from ticket master. However as the time tix went on sale was fast approaching, and with no e-mail from TM with the password, I went to Google, typed in "Robert Plant presale password nyc" and started to view the results. The first return took me to a site where window after window kept opening, but no password, at least none that I could find. 2nd site I hit paydirt. Password for NYC was HEKASHMIR, although when i finally received a password from ticketmaster (1/2 hour after tix went on sale) it was different.......sorry but that one I do not recall off the top of my head. HEKASHMIR worked for me as I was able to get 8 tix to the show at the Beacon here in NY.

Hi SuperDave- I mistyped when I wrote AMEX- the presale code I got was from TicketMaster. (Had AMEX on the brain.) Sorry for any confusion that may have caused.

On AMEX's website for entertainment they had other shows on the tour listed (not sure if for presale or not) but did not have the Beacon show listed.

I managed to get good seats (I think) for the Philly show at the Tower. One ticket in Section AA seat 6 orchestra towards the left, and another in Section DD left-center orchestra. I think they are close to the stage but I'm not sure how close? Anyone else going to this show? I'd like to meet some of you. I wanted to get the NYC tix but didn't have the password. I may try tomorrow very early from work. I'm wondering of we can just ditch the seats and run up front? Some of the venues will kinda let it go I did it with the Who and it worked.

Definitely remember that. It was fun hanging out for a bit after The Bowery security escorted me out from the Rounder Records party I wasn't allowed to attend.

Glad you were able to get tix for the Beacon. I'm going to try tomorrow.

Welcome to the board!

Local venue In Atlanta, Variety Playhouse sent me email today with password for presale for Robert's show at Fox Theater. Presale is today, Friday 11-19. Password is "wind". Go to ticketmaster and get tickets with this password. I got my ticket today.

OK....I'm officially excited... FRONT ROW CENTER scored for Asheville Jan 18...3 days before my birthday. My home town...should be fun. Now need to line up a couple backsatge passes!!!

:wall: Rub it in Ocean! Kidding of course, happy for you.

BUT...that rascal Robert! The entire time my home town was Asheville....he never came. I remember people trying to get him to play The Orange Peel. So I'm jealous he's playing there now. And this time in the better Wolfe Auditorium.

I am not thrilled with this band sound myself, but if he came here.... say @ Kingsbury Hall, where Griffin and Buddy played right before the BoJ tour, I would go of course!

In the past, any presale info was passed out by the artist, not the venue. I scored a ticket for the Raleigh show today and saw there were several "presales". Not sure how fans were supposed to even know about those. I joined Plant's mailing list via his website and still haven't not received any confirmation of it. Same thing happened with the Plant/Krauss tour (never received a presale code), I got it from some of the kind folks here.

Same here. Then today I got the presale code for the Atlanta show earlier by Googling it. ( And then didn't think much of the offerings, anyway.)

This presale stuff is crap! I bought tix for AK/RP @ civic center in Asheville last time presale...they were hands down, the worst seats I've ever had at a concert! and they cost me more!. Today I went down to the box office at 7:30am....number 6 in line, hot coffee, good (NO GREAT) conversation, and scored 2 tickets front row center. 4 windows opened at the same time. They were also almost $50.00 cheaper than buying them on line. Damn ticketmaster is such a racket, always has been.

Jahfin...are you coming to Asheville for the show?

The best experience I've had with fanclub presales is through R.E.M.'s fanclub. Presales through their fanclub didn't actually start up until the internet had taken hold so I believe the first one was for the Up tour in '99. I'd gotten decent seats to shows (theirs and otherwise) through the luck of the draw before but the fanclub guaranteed seats within the first four rows (though this wasn't always the case for some fans). For the last several tours I've had front row seats. Some artists charge an outrageous amount to be in their fanclub but not R.E.M. Their annual membership fee is $10 and has never gone up since it was started in the early 80s. That alone makes it worth the $10 a year to be in the fanclub but that's only one incentive, they sent out a holiday single every year at Christmastime as well as periodical newsletters, though the newsletters have been made nearly obsolete by the availability of news on the innerwebz.

Jahfin...are you coming to Asheville for the show?

No, I'm not. That's too far to travel from my area, especially considering I have tickets to the Raleigh show (not to mention the price of the tickets themselves).

Cool!

(I did a double take when I read your post- I didn't realize that he had added another show on Sunday until now)

Both shows went on sale yesterday together at 11am. I checked the TM site earlier today and there are no tix left for the Saturday show, but still some good ones left for Sunday. I was able to get Orchestra seats for the Saturday show, in the center in Row N. So I'm happy with those. I used the Amex setting as the seats were a little better.
