in_the_evening
Sometimes someone reinterprets a classic, and it replaces the classic. Joe Cocker's take on "With a Little Help from My Friends" is one such instance. Rest in Peace, Joe, and thanks for the great tunes. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/23/arts/music/joe-cocker-is-dead-at-70.html

Strider
I guess he wasn't feelin' alright, but did he die with a little help from his friends? Strangest singer I have ever seen. R.I.P. Joe Cocker.

60blues
I have always loved Joe's rendition of "With a Little Help from my Friends". I was fortunate enough to have seen him perform twice and he never disappointed. That heavenly choir has a really unique voice now! R.I.P Joe... Charles J. White
It is interesting that he was known as essentially a covers guy, or tribute guy, and yet in many cases his covers were more popular when people choose between those and the originals.
