2015 POTTEDPLANT MEMORIAL NFL POOL

Seattle beat San Francisco and saved their season...making the playoffs would have been tough at 2-5 for the Seahawks. Picking the 49ers foolishly, I have now lost 4 Thursday Night games in-a-row after starting the season winning the first three. Which gave me an idea...tally up our Thursday Night stats. I don't know about you, but I always feel better starting out with a victory on Thursday night. It gives me optimism for the weekend.

The best overall week we had for Thursday Night Football was the first week, Pittsburgh @ New England. Our aggregate that week was 11-1, LedZeppfan77 being the lone loser picking Pittsburgh. Our worst week was Week 6, when only one of us (in_the_evening) picked New Orleans against Atlanta...1-13 was our record that week. What follows is the weekly breakdown of the Thursday Night picks, starting with the aggregate and then individual records.

Thursday Night Football

Week 1: Pittsburgh @ New England 11-1 with 2 no-picks

Week 2: Denver @ Kansas City 3-9 with 2 no-picks

Week 3: Washington @ NY Giants 9-5

Week 4: Baltimore @ Pittsburgh 11-3

Week 5: Indianapolis @ Houston 6-8

Week 6: Atlanta @ New Orleans 1-13

Week 7: Seattle @ San Francisco 8-5 with 1 no-pick

Jabe, I think you forgot to pick the New England game?

Good catch Rick.Strider, my New Orleans pick should read New England.

Maybe exhibition games in the pre-season would be better timed?

I heard a rumour that the powers that be are working on a plan for the '49ers to play a game in Sydney at ANZ Stadium, that seats 83,500 and would sell out. Interest here has risen mostly because Jarryd Hayne is the first Australian to play in the backs and ANZ was a home ground for him when he played for NSW Blues in State of Origin and Parramatta's big games. In the past Aussies have mostly been imported for their kick / punt skills, so to have a local ball player would be a TV ratings winner too.

San Francisco 49ers are keen to play an NFL pre-season game in Australia next year.

Buffalo...I won't see a minute of this game on principle...the principle being that I need sleep.

Washington...go Taters!

Atlanta

New Orleans...I keep hoping the Saints right the ship.

Minnesota...I was kind of hoping the Lions would run the table again to 0-16.

Pittsburgh...Here's a team that knows how to stay afloat while their starting quarterback is injured...Dallas take note.

St. Louis...Is this the end of Johnny Manziel?

Miami...the Primate has awoken!

New England...An upset could happen.

San Diego...Rivers had 500 yds passing last week against Green Bay...Green Bay is better than Oakland.

Dallas...In Matt We Trust. ;)

Carolina...Cam is in the MVP discussion.

Arizona...Right about now is when the wheels come off the Cardinals.

Have them lose both their qb and Antonio Brown for 6-8 weeks and then I'll take note...

Anti-climactic Monday Night as everyone had Arizona, so win or lose, everyone's place remained the same from Sunday. And despite your worrying Paul Carruthers, you actually finished well...tied for second in a group of others at 10-4. Bong-Man and ebk step on up to the Winner's Podium, for you two tied for the lead in Week 7 at 11-3. Congratulations! :cheer::cheer:
