I'm from California, USA.

I was a Junior at Lynbrook High School, San Jose California when I went to see my Favorite Rock and Roll Group - Led Zeppelin, on Wednesday, September 2, 1970 in Oakland, CA US, at the Oakland Coliseum.  Everything they played sounded better than their recordings.

When Led Zeppelin started playing the Immigrant Song,  I literally jumped out of my seat!

It was FANTASTIC!!!!

I'll be at Glastonbury in 2019.

A reunited Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac have been named as the frontrunners to headline Glastonbury 2019.

Bookmaker’s Betway say that Led Zeppelin are “clear favourites” to top the bill on the Pyramid Stage next year at 2/1, while Fleetwood Mac are currently sitting at 3/1.

Betway’s Alan Alger says: “Emily Eavis has previously spoken about her dream of getting Led Zeppelin to headline Glastonbury, and there's a good chance of that happening on 2/1

“Fallow years are always hot for stirring headline rumours and over the last few months punters have begun to latch onto the likes of Fleetwood Mac at 3/1, as well as The Beach Boys and The Stone Roses at 4/1.”

There’s been a flurry of activity surrounding the surviving members of Led Zep this year, with the band celebrating their 50th anniversary.

How The West Was Won was reissued back in March, while a 7-inch yellow vinylfeaturing the Sunset Sound Mix of Rock And Roll and the Olympic Studio Mix of Friends was introduced to mark Record Store Day in April.

September 7 sees a reissue of The Song Remains The Same, while an official 50th anniversary photo book will be released in October by Real Art Press.

Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones last played together at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London in 2007 with Jason Bonham taking his late father John’s place behind the drum kit, but Plant has consistently distanced himself from further reunions in the past.

His latest comments came in October last year, when he told the Daily Telegraph: “You can’t ever really go back. It’s tough enough repeating yourself with something that’s a year old, never mind 49 years old. I’ve got to keep moving.”

Fleetwood Mac, meanwhile, parted ways with Lindsey Buckingham in April and brought in Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and Crowded House leader Neil Finn.

They’ll head out on a North American tour later this year, with dates planned into April 2019.

Here’s a list of Betway’s top 10 odds on who could headline Glastonbury next year:

Led Zeppelin: 2/1
Fleetwood Mac: 3/1
The Beach Boys: 4/1
The Stone Roses: 4/1
The Stokes: 4/1
Elton John: 5/1
Kendrick Lamar: 6/1
The Rolling Stones: 10/1
Kanye West: 12/1
Taylor Swift 12/1

No chance, besides do you think a few hundred thousand Zeppelin fans are going to buy tickets for the biggest bore fest (these days) on the planet on the off chance  that JPJ, PLANT and PAGE will show up. It's not going to happen..

I think there’s been speculation around Zeppelin doing Glastonbury for at least the last 5 events. It’s not a new rumour. It seams like it’s just been re-rumoured for the next one. I’d go as far as putting a £1 bet on . But wouldn’t buy a ticket .

I suppose in 2019 it will be 50 years since zeppelin did the 1969 bath festival which was the inspiration for Glastonbury.

In fact wasn’t it the Zeppelin performance at Bath that Eavis saw , which was the trigger for him to start putting on festivals?

Synchronicity.

I don’t know much about the current situation with fleetwood Mac but I would have thought they would have had higher odds at topping Glastonbury than LZ.

I mean England are 8/1 to win the World Cup . I would have thought that more likely than LZ headlining Glastonbury, at England  least are still playing together as a group

I have really heard it all now. Will the stop over at the world's most corporate, dull, manicured, over subscribed rip off festival be part of a World Tour as well? You will never get a ticket anyway. Like many who have been to Pilton's answer to the Conservative Party conference, it was once OK until the corps got hold of it. Shit you can't even skin up without some twat saying " do you mind ?" let alone scoring a bag or a tab of acid. It's all on TV here anyway so you can wear that Kaftan or tie dyed shirt and sit on your partners shoulders singing "it's all yellow" zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I don’t doubt Eavis has approached all the those on the list.

he has a problem he’s got the 50th Glastonbury  and his retirement one to do in 2019/2020 but would prefer not to have the spice girls . His main targets for the top slot aren’t even bands anymore.

The other issue is who has final say about the billing. Remember you have three headline acts over the weekend. I gather the running of the festival is split between Michael and Emily Eavis with Emily having increasing responsibility and booking of acts.

Oddly enough I could see Mr Plant, Mr Page and Mr Jones playing just for Michael as his retirement gift at the end of festival get together that only the local village attends rather than the official festival.

Also some very good points about the commercialisation of the festival. I can only imagine how wonderful the early ones were.

Agree with many here - highly improbable.A good indicator of 'any' LZ live action in 2019 will be Robert's recording (and of course any subsequent touring) schedule with Alison,SSS. Right now he's committed on touring with SSS until end October. Will he be generous and leave a rehearsing/performing window into 2019 I wonder ? 🙂

despite the obvious barriers to this happening, like the band splitting up 38 years ago and Planty adamant pretty much ever since then that he doesn't want to revisit it, besides the extremely rare occasions. the other factor that is that I cant see Page agreeing to play  this gig which goes out live in national tv. they'll be as rusty as hell and it'd be risky to try to regain any magic in front of tv cameras recording everything

also tickets are very difficult to obtain and so it wouldn't really be a Zeppelin audience
