Reggie29
The view from my balcony Summer storm front gathering over the mountains in the west Thunderclaps and a lightning flash illuminate the sky To the east the sun is shining Cumulus rolling out to sea Wind blowing a gale hail crashing down on tin rooves Echoing the din from the rain Calm overhead an eerie sense the worst is yet to come Grey, black, blue and white make up the skyscape's palate Leaves from falling trees add a tinge of brownish green, a peaceful scene Until thunder cracks and windows shake as if struck by Thor's great mallet Locked inside in darkness helpless without power Now it's moving eastward again has it only been an hour? The aftermath when skies have cleared brings floods and tears of sorrow It's been a week already it's going to be the same tomorrow

chef free
POURING down rain here in Oakland and California in general. Three to six inches predicted today, up to ten inches in some places! Winds to 50 miles per hour here in the East Bay hills, 70 mile per hour winds and blizzard conditions predicted for the Sierra. Combine that with three years of drought to weaken all the trees and a few weeks of rain, I expect downed trees to knock out the power any time now. All local schools and many businesses are closed. I plan on going hiking in the hills today! Edited December 11, 2014 by chef free
Charles J. White
Pity your moving ? It looks that way if the employment side will work out. We shall see what Jan 2015 will bring. I moved here in March 1st 1989, and for the 1st year just spent time getting to know the city and province. Feel like it's time to get back home. I like Ottawa because it's home, and though not as big as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, it's Canada's 4th largest city which isn't bad with 1.2 million people. The other option is Calgary West, I like the rockies.
