We got quite a bit of snow last night here in Enumclaw. Dodging a bullet tomorrow as it will hit way north of us. Still damned cold though.

Yup, it’ll be here next week. For now though we have the a/c running as it is too hot to have the windows open. Next week, it’ll be in the upper 30’s so then we’ll have the heat going. Not many happy medium days...

The wind is blasting through here today. Looks like a Montana blizzard. Couldn't even get my truck out. Not quite the 'Frozen Chosin', but bad enough. ☹️

Awesome. Cold, bright and sunny. Last night we had -5C, -12C at the countryside, now that's some real winter temperatures.

Since my last post, January 5, temperatures were all above 8C, mostly above 12C.

Forsythia and cherry trees are in bloom. About 2 months too early.

No, but we were just talking about that at dinner tonight with my in-laws. If dogs eat them, they can become paralyzed. Crazy stuff.

We went to the NFL Pro Bowl day today at Disney - it was ridiculously cold and windy, then it started misting....  Even people visiting from up north couldn’t believe how cold it was.

So you are in Orlando.  I take it you are from upstate NY?  If your father was a Bills fan?  And 44 is not 15.   Like here.  Right now its up to 30.   It sucks.  But there are some advantages I guess.  No termites to worry about. But I do wish I lived in Florida or California .

Rick, it's no secret where I live - I've said many, many times before and yes, I grew up east of Syracuse.  In the "snow belt". I worked in the Adirondacks every summer as a teen, moved here in '85.  Termites are only a problem if you don't take care of your home.  We are now residing near Disney in west orange county - outside of Orlando.

So you  know International Drive very well I am sure.  Tourist trap heaven.  But fun.  I prefer Universal to Disney any day.  My wife's parents are two hours from you.  Ocala. Horse country.   Hate it there but still beats being here now.  We have been lucky so far.  Not much snow but this weekend that might change.  So East of Syracuse.  Like near Utica.   Turning Stone is in that area now.  I watched the Eagles beat the Pats there at that casino.   My wife's aunt is in Syracuse.  My daughter and her  husband are both Syracuse grads as was my late uncle who passed away in Sunrise, near Miami.  My daughter and son in law are now in Hoboken NJ.  Right across the Hudson from Manhattan where they work.  And my granddaughter who is just over a year.  You did the right thing escaping here.  So you were in half Jets and Giants and half Bills country sort of being East of Syracuse.  We had a cottage 1 mile from Alexandria Bay for 37 years.  I am sure you have been to the Islands?

Ocala is definitely horse country...but so is the area I'm in - Winter Garden.  There are a number of horse stable just up the road from us.  We live on the north side of Disney property - but no tourists come through.  I used to work on I-Drive for years when I was in Hospitality Management.  I prefer Universal to Disney also.

Turning Stone was built after I left, but it is literally a couple of miles from the high school I attended up there.  My mother's boyfriend works there.  I became a Cowboys fan because my grandfather was one (he was a lot like Tom Landry) and my sister liked the Steelers - so I had to be the opposite of that...  My father was a Bills fan and the Giants/Jets were never even a consideration as they both sucked and really weren't represented well in Central NY.  Anyway...

Ridiculously mild. 15 degrees c in January. Whatever next?? A view of the sun in June?

Just watched an old Twilight Zone where the earth was moving closer to the sun. The girls oil paintings were even melting. Come to find she was just dreaming and the earth was actually moving away from the sun and getting colder.

Haven't seen Black Mirror. Rain and wind like crazy in western Washington. There was even a car chase through downed power lines. 😨

Yesterday it wads 73 ans sunny..warmer than Miami or Los Angeles.  This morning, we got up to a glaze of ice over everything, a temp of 28 and now snow.  We are supposed to get 36 hour of sleet and snow and 72 hours of temps in the teens for highs and below zero at night.  FU Punxsutawney Phil!
