Pooching may not have been a solution. I believe the clock doesn't start until it's touched by either team. It could have been immediately downed, or even worse, rolled out of bounds. That penalty would have put the ball at the 35 yard line or closer (depending where it went out) without taking any time off the clock. I have to admit though that after the Bills scored, I had the thought it wasn't over yet. With a couple plays left either way, I was thinking a long pass with an interference call could put the Chiefs in field goal range. Witnessing the "Miracle in Motown" in person taught me all about, "it ain't over till it's over." Losing on a record 66 yard field goal this year didn't help those thoughts either. Sean McDermott and Bruce Arians also deserve scrutiny for their actions/inactions. Oh well, we have all off season for that. As such, we now have four teams in the conference finals who by all rights should not even be here, if Tennessee, Green Bay, Tampa Bay and Buffalo had not done some downright stupid things last weekend.
