Unfortunately you know when it says they were "found in their apartment" that there was usually something dark in their life leading to this, whether it was drugs, depression...I guess we'll find out. The Academy Award nominated actor was 28. "Pills were found in the vicinity of the bed," police spokesman Paul Browne told CNN. "This is being looked at as a possible overdose, but that is not confirmed yet." The pills appeared to be over-the-counter sleeping medication, said police spokeswoman Barbara Chen. Ledger was unresponsive when he was found by a housekeeper who had gone to wake him for an appointment with a masseuse in the Soho apartment, Browne said. The apartment is owned by the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, The New York Times reported. Ledger was declared dead at about 3:30 p.m., Browne said. In 2005, the actor played Ennis Del Mar in "Brokeback Mountain," about two cowboys who had a secret relationship. The role earned him the Oscar nomination. Ledger was born in Perth, Australia. He has a young daughter with actress Michelle Williams, his co-star in "Brokeback Mountain." "He was just so respected in the industry," said Kim Serafin, senior editor of In Touch Weekly. I've loved him since I saw A Knight's Tale, I swear my heart skipped a beat when I saw the news on my computer. He had a lot of potential left, and now his daughter will have to grow up without ever knowing her dad. It's really sad news to some people on this board. I never had any idea he had a drug issue. Gosh, drugs ruin so many lives. His poor little kiddie. Isn't she like two years old? I'll always remember when 10 Things I Hate About You came out when I was like 13 and he serenaded Julia Stiles. I was always so jealous haha. Heath is my favourite actor and i am absolutely distraught that he has passed away. im still coming to terms that he has gone... such a talent lost at such a young age. Actually...it could have been an accidental overdose. That happens a lot with sleeping pills...he might have taken more than he could handle, or mixed it with something else...but then again, it might have been a suicide. They didn't mention a note or anything... I think it just might have been accidental. The man had a massage scheduled...also, they said they found him naked. If I was going to commit suicide, I would make sure I wasn't naked...but that's just me. I expected to find Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan with this headline, not Heath Ledger.
