  1. I disagree with premise of this thread. Other years I understand but....... It should be titled “Appreciating Page 1973”
  2. Re: Tuning Back in the day, shit just didn’t stay in tune. The technology of the time just wasn’t as good. Add the fact Jimmy used ultra light strings, and the fact that Les Pauls are notorious for not staying in tune, well there’s your recipe. i mean, don’t even get me started on poor Jimmys Strat in 79-80, but again, these were the days before locking nut tuners, etc etc its of its time
  3. Alvin Lee Ten Years Afte dude was FAST
  4. Oh dear Lord not 77 too these gonna be some loooooooooong ass posts BTW I love 77
  5. Honestly? Recording live was expensive back then, and Led Wallet didn’t see the need for outlaying lots of cash to professionally record lots of shows like the Grateful Dead for example. Im sure Jimmy has few regrets in life, but not professionally filming and recording more live shows MIGHT be one of them. But I doubt it.
  6. Dear Gibsonfan I disagree with you You make me mad sometimes You're too tough on a guy with a broken finger That being said this is fave thread so keep them coming even though you're pissing me off lol
  7. Just skip Landover, Page was wasted. 2/12/75 is one of my fave shows I'm curious to hear how anal you are about it
  8. I wouldn't say its a great show, but I've been listening to Liverpool 1973, and good Lord almighty Bonzo is just thrashing that poor Green Sparkle kit for all it's worth. The rest of the band can barely keep up. Monstrous performance.
  9. I just discovered Lirio Ft Worth remaster and it kicks ass. Definitely best show and best recording from 77 SB we have so far.
  10. Fantastic description thank you for sharing !
  11. No love for Copenhagen 7/24/79? very unique version with a BLISTERING solo
  12. Badgeholders 6/23/77 is my fave, it’s petfect. i listened to that 6/22/77 version, it’s stellar, but Pagey just constructed 6/23 just a little better and it wins for me.
  13. Incredible amounts of stupid speculative BS going on here. Ridiculous.
  14. Physical Graffiti it has it all
  15. I feel a little sad about Tony Catania not being with them anymore. I hope his departure was done tactfully, he’s such a nice guy and hell of a player. We grew up in same town and he was my guitar teacher it’s been amazing to see him achieve so much with Jason. Hope he continues being successful.
  16. The version on new Seattle 3.21.75 is incredible. It's in my top 5 for sure
  17. The only thing Presence lacks is low end. Its a fantastic sounding record with Bonzos drums captured super crisply and shimmering guitars everywhere
  18. I don't fault Jimmy either the man spent way more time than the others working on their music he earned those extra bucks
  19. He'd disappear like Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars
  20. ZOSO is a sigil. I think it's part of a larger spell that Jimmy cast. It's an amplifier of sorts, projecting his will on listeners and drawing them in. In and of itself, it is meaningless. But it has Jimmy's true will and intent tied up with it. It's powerful, so careful with it. My .02
