Joelmon
I'm in the same boat as those who listen to all their albums start to finish. I can only think of one fairly recent cd I skip the first song and go straight to the second. The Flaming Lips ..Yeah, yeah, yeah song drives me nuts...the rest of the album is great !!! I was never a 'singles' guy...or 1 song at a time downloader. I've always appreciated the variety on albums I buy...I LIKE EVERYTHING on every album I have...'cept the above mentioned. Used to be I'd only listen to one side of a record sometime before I put on another...but that's because one side was a 'unit'. Now with cd's playing the entire album or double...I just listen to the entire thing....up to 80 minutes straight.... I don't fragment it. dragster
Any album that wasn't released in the dark ages of music: the 80s!
Jahfin
One of the best of ALL TIME...not just the 80s. You're missing out if you discount that decade... Definitely lots good music then: Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Bob Marley, Culture, Itals, the Mighty Diamonds, R.E.M., U2, the Replacements, the Church, Guadalcanal Diary, the Cure, the Connells, the Alarm, Omar and the Howlers, Los Lobos, Steve Earle, the Blasters, X, Del Fuegos, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Lone Justice, the Long Ryders, the list is nearly endless. Mr. Pink
I always liked Spirit Of Eden more than Laughing Stock. But the later is usually considered their finest achievement.
Joelmon
I always liked Spirit Of Eden more than Laughing Stock. But the later is usually considered their finest achievement. Come to think of it...I do too. In the thread I started about 3 consecutive albums that show remarkable progression...I listed Talk Talk from The Colour of Spring to Laughing Stock....I really meant It's My Life - The Colour of Spring - Spirit of Eden. That's where the progress was remarkable. I love Laughing Stock..but I don't really see it surpassing SoE in progress. It's quite similar to me...on that level. Laughing Stock was '91 I believe too... Too often the 80s are seen only in the Hair Metal and fag rock of the techno/pop crews....but the early 80s had some great music still hanging onto the late 70s...XTC, Talking Heads, Police amongst lesser known artists...the middle 80s is where I feel were a bit lean...but not totally. the fool
I usually have a whole lot of free time to listen to music, so I am able to listen for 45 minutes to an hour. It's easy to fill that time. Led Zeppelin - I, II, III, IV, Houses of the Holy Grateful Dead - AOXOMOXOA, American Beauty Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Obscured By Clouds, Dark Side of the Moon, Meddle, Wish You Were Here The Who - Quadrophenia, Tommy, The Who Sell Out, Who's Next The 13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere Sublime - Self Titled, 40oz to Freedom The Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland Jerry Garcia - Garcia Frank Zappa - We're Only In It For The Money The Doors - The Doors, Morrison Hotel Buck 65 - Vertex Gorillaz - Demon Days Dylan - Blonde on Blonde, Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, The Beatles - Abbey Road, Let It Be, White Album (it's become a sort of tradition), Love The music I listen to, for the most part, is much more effective when it's heard in context of the full album... There's no other way for me. And even if I choose to listen to one song, I usually want to hear the whole album anyway.

Chicken
There is hardly an album in my collection that I don't listen to, from start to finish. Except maybe, double albums where I might often just listen to one disc separately. Same here. Song-skipping annoys the hell out of me.
