JTM
This could be quite a long list, but I'm just going to pick just one and it is The Who's Quadrophenia.
redrum
We had the Mother's 'Freak Out' in '67 and played it to death. 10 Years After also had a great 'live' double album. Their drummer Ric Lee always blew me away. :^)

JTM
Little Feat "Waiting For Columbus" CSN&Y "Four Way Street" I picked just one for my choice, Quadrophenia imo the best double as far as studio albums go. If i was to add one live double, by far and away it would be Little Feats Waiting for Columbus. Many albums others have posted here are in my collection and could make the list but i will stick to my (new) limit of one studio and one live double. Actually, there's a few other great double-live albums I forgot...Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison, Iron Maiden, Blue Öyster Cult. Maybe I should eliminate live albums from the criteria...that would make it easier to get the list under 20.

JTM : Nice choice and you're right, there are many great ones to choose from. I must admit that most that I would list are live as opposed to studio but I'd only include official release albums . For other's here that are big soul , funk fans, they may want to add EW&F : Gratitude and AWB: Live In Montreux. Two absolutely stellar albums Edited February 15, 2013 by ally

Strider
Just looked at the results, Pink Floyd's The Wall has the most the votes, 2nd is The Beatles White album and third is Physical Graffiti. All that says to me is that there's a lot of miserable gits out there that like being miserable. If you want to wallow in misery, Pink Floyd's your band. Crikey! I just had a look at that link...it's Go Daddy.com ferchrissakes...that website is for cretins and they have some of the most annoying ads on television. Their poll means doodly-squat.
