Strider
How sad.... what was the cause of death? I am close in age also R.I.P. Cause of death still unconfirmed, Jules, pending forensic tests. All that is known is that it was sudden. Man...Percy Sledge, Jack Ely of the Kingsmen and Ben E. King gone in the same week! That's rough. Jukeboxes wouldn't be the same without those men. I don't think I have ever seen a jukebox that didn't have "When a Man Loves a Woman", "Louie Louie", and "Stand by Me". I have fed a lot of dimes and quarters into dive bar jukeboxes over the years playing those songs. Rest in peace gentlemen.
Kiwi_Zep_Fan87
As a huge fan of the Garage Rock music genre, I'm just so freakin' heart broken right now!! R.I.P Jack Ely! You were the voice of a Garage Rock song, which was one of the most critical turning points for an entire genre of music!

Love the peace sign. I'm guessing the house wasn't all-white like that in the 60s?

Zoe
My long term partner's mother and grandfather both passed away this year. What a time it's been :(
apantherfrommd
Bless your heart. That's so sad. Grandparents are very hard, but you only get one mom and dad. I know that takes a lot to be comforting them. I wish you a lot of strength and stamina. My condolences to y'all, and to their family and those they hold so dear. Emily008
This happened in April and I have been meaning to post this for a while now. R.I.P Sawyer Sweeten. http://edition.cnn.com/2015/04/23/entertainment/everybody-loves-raymond-sawyer-sweeten-suicide/ Hearing that someone committed suicide is hard enough, but the fact that it was a 19 year old kid who did the deed, is even harder to swallow! And You Know How It Is?
RIP Dennis Sheehan, who worked with Robert on the 1977 US Tour. Nothing on Robert's website yet, but am sure he'll post something, since he did that nice video tribute honoring Dennis a couple of years ago. https://www.yahoo.com/music/u2s-longtime-tour-manager-dennis-sheehan-dies-120033906161.html
Strider
Whoa. Shocking news as U2 begins its weeklong run at the Forum. Dennis Sheehan also worked with Led Zeppelin. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/may/27/u2-tour-manager-dies I've partied at the Sunset Marquis many times before...seen lots of shenanigans. renounce
Attended U2's LA Forum show last night. Bono had this to say about Dennis Sheehan (and Led Zeppelin); http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/u2-honors-late-tour-manager-dennis-sheehan-concert-article-1.2238407 Bono's crack about 'not being able to fill Robert Plant's pants' got a big laugh from the Forum crowd. The article doesn't mention that Bono also said; 'I think in the beginning of our career we were trying to fill the void left by Led Zeppelin, but, of course, we couldn't do that.' All the best to you, Dennis Sheehan. Edited May 28, 2015 by renounce
