But that is over here too, where many don't even wear helmets either - so you know what kind of mindset they have! Oh and believe me, car drivers are rough too....inconsiderate, too aggressive, too focused on their phones than their car/lane they are driving in, etc. We could go on forever about drivers! I think I became a better driver because I became a motorcycle owner in my 30's. It certainly made me think twice and I still do and look for bikers when pulling out of side streets etc. But there are some complete arseholes who ride bikes. Once concrete is there, it's there forever. People who live in the Peak District and moan about green belt building. They should try living in Stoke. kingzoso Posted June 18, 2014 Share Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) Something that really rubs me the wrong way is when I see people (White/Black/Mexican/Asian/Etc... doesn't matter) buy an inordinate amount of meat, steaks, seafood, soft drinks, energy drinks, candy and whatever else can be purchased on a food stamp card. Then on a separate order they buy a case(s) of beer, bottles of wine and lottery tickets with cash. From what I have seen over the years of this, most of these people who buy this extravagant amount of food on a food stamp card, are covered with many tattoos and other body work. My point is: if these people can afford to drink, play the lottery and cover themselves with hideous tattoos with their own money, why are they allowed to use state and federal monies (paid for by US, the hard-working Americans that actually PAY taxes so that these millions of individuals can sponge off the government for their whole lives). I am ALL for the drug testing of every single American that applies or continues to receive food stamps. I say test them on a bi-monthly bases so that the ones who are really clean and honest continue to receive the assistance they need. To the ones who cheat and lie to the government and use and abuse drugs and/or alcohol, I believe that they should be banned from assistance and be made to pay back all the money to the federal government as recompose for their deception. Many years ago, when my kids were young, we were struggling financially. We had a mortage and were both working our butts off, we were barely scraping through each week. I remember being in a K.Mart type store and I was umming about buying a few dollar cheap top for one of my kids. I can't remember if i decided to buy it or not, but as i went past the check out, I saw welfare recipients handing over their government assisted cheques, buying brand name extravagent clothing items. Handing over $500 bucks without a thought. These same people had govt assisted new cars, brand new homes, daily free childcare, their kids were paid to attend school and recieve an education, while we paid school fees. They received bonuses for owning a pet, had their own assigned free bus transport , which was not available to anyone else and so many other benefits that were unatainable to us mere people who were working our asses off, paying taxes and struggling to survive, week to week. The fortnightly day their assitance money was provided by the government, was the day everyone stayed clear of the local town area ........ because the recipients spent the whole day in the local pubs and subsequently, all hell broke loose. Luckily they also had free legal help, because it was often needed. The lucky recipients of these benefits, had the fortune of having a different colour skin. Recently I was out shopping and a mother walked passed me severly scolding a little child of 5 or 6 because she had to escort her to the restroom so she could go potty! Any parent will tell you about the frustrating experience of taking a child shopping. We walk past a restroom and ask the child if they need to do a wee, they say no. We ask again, are you sure? they answer no again. Then at the most inopportune moment, the child then declares they are busting and need to immediately go to the restroom. This usually happens in the middle of the supermarket, when we have a shopping trolley full of groceries and is of course, a long way from the nearest toilets. Don't ever come down here, because you'll see lots of unpainted toe nails in sandals and thongs (flip flops). Thongs are our summer essential and are worn everywhere. I agree, cracked dry heels look terrible. I've never had foot fungus issues, so I don't know anything about that. I'm surrounded by beaches where I live, so I think walking barefoot on the sand acts as a exfoliant and the salt water is cleansing. I don't know about Aussie's wearing thongs to work ...... that sounds like one of those crazy myths made up about us And if you're coming here for a holiday, you'd better learn the language. Why not? Seems to me these parents need to decide if they are going to be adults, or still out having fun. If the babies are crying all the time they obviously aren't having much fun.
