myledzep Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Nice book and nice photo of the band. Quote
ro_a Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Nice book and nice photo of the band. New Zep Pic stand alone link Quote
zep41 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I am showing that inside the booklet it says Ron Wood is playing too? Has this been confirmed? Is this news or has it already been announced and i missed it? Quote
mos6507 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Robert with a beard I can take, but I just can't get used to Jimmy with white hair, and Jason being bald is weird too. It's like he's Chris Slade from The Firm. Quote

It's like he's Chris Slade from The Firm. I love Jimmy all grey; it didn't take long for me to adjust. As a matter of fact, they all look fantastic. I wish I could see a bigger shot of that photo. On Ahmet's site, it tells you how to enlarge it but when I try, I get nada.....but it's my fault. I'm challenged at the moment. Quote

Is this news or has it already been announced and i missed it? Yes, I noticed that. First time I've heard of him performing. Their HAVE been rumors of various members of the Rolling Stones showing up during Bill Wyman's set. This could be one of the greatest nights of music in a LOOOOOOOOONG time! Quote

No, the Stones are playing at the private after-show party, not the main gig, and not with Bill Wyman. Quote
Hotplant Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 No, the Stones are playing at the private after-show party, not the main gig, and not with Bill Wyman. Sooooo, are you going???? Quote
zep41 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 so does anyone know if Ronnie Wood is definately going to play during the show itself? I am just really happy that Pete Townsend is gone. Quote
blackdog Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 zep41, You mean to tell me that you are a Led Zep fan and you don't appreciate the guitar prowess of Pete? Oh, c'mon! Quote
rockthing Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I just got an email (read spam) about this yesterday. I about shixx myself thinking I'd somehow been belatedly called up for a ticket! Robert with a beard I can take, but I just can't get used to Jimmy with white hair, and Jason being bald is weird too. It's like he's Chris Slade from The Firm. I hadn't made the Chris Slade connection, nice call. Maybe they'll do Cadillac or Satisfaction Guaranteed.... At least it appears that no one is using hairspray this time around, thank Valhalla for that! Quote
Humbucker Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 zep41, You mean to tell me that you are a Led Zep fan and you don't appreciate the guitar prowess of Pete? Oh, c'mon! Correct, blackdog. Nothing wrong with Pete Townshend: superb musician. RB Quote
zep41 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 (edited) zep41, You mean to tell me that you are a Led Zep fan and you don't appreciate the guitar prowess of Pete? Oh, c'mon! Not at all. He is one of my most despised people in rock and roll. As a guitarist he's at best average. He's a very good song writer, but a very average guitar player. Terrible at lead, and not even that great of a rhythm player. Maybe some people like his playing, but it really does nothing for me. Pete also comes off to me as a pompous ass. In addition, he reportedly pushed a dying and physically pathetic Ronnie Lane down a flight of stairs and laughed about it. Anyone who picks on someone with a terminal illness is a complete scumbag and is not ok by me. Also, he likes young kiddie porn and is probably a child predator. That too, I am not cool with. SO, back to my original question -- does anyone know if Ronnie Wood will be playing in this too? Edited December 3, 2007 by zep41 Quote
mos6507 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 It's too bad Pete will be stigmatized to some degree by the kiddie porn label until he dies. That issue is long resolved in the eyes of the law but in the court of public opinion you are guilty until proven innocent. Pete is kind of the original punk rocker, and you can't be a punk unless you are an angry guy. So some of his past behavior is kind of par for the course in the sphere of rough and tumble rock. He talked the talk and walked the walk. He probably committed no worse sins than John Bonham. Quote
Olipticle Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Great little first glimse of the band... didnt know jason was bald, But all in all one for the scrapbooks Quote
