Misundersood Lyrics

This is always a fun discussion. We all know "Scuse me while I kiss this guy" and "There's a bathroom on the right." But specificaIly for Zeppelin tunes only- I was just listening to Mysty Mountain Hop and had to laugh because there's a line I have had wrong all these years and even when I found out the real lyric, I sing it my way when it comes on: "...he asked us, said please hey WHOOPIE CAT...to all get in line" I know it's really "WOULD WE CARE", but I can't change my brain. Do you have any others like that????

I knew it couldn't be right, but I heard, "Our only goal with be the record store!" in Immigrant Song.

This could be the best motto ever! So appropriate!

Gosh! This thread is hilarious!

Well, in the "Immigrant Song" where there is the line :

"Our only goal will be the western shore"

I always thought it was : "Our only goal is to rest and shout!"

Also, in "Trampled Under Foot", instead of hearing : "Baby let me change your valves, Fix your overdrive"

I thought it was : "Baby let me check your voice, Fix your rolling dice"

I used to think that line in "Black Dog" was " All I ask for, All I pray, a skinny little woman 'll come my way". After all there is that line that goes "I don't know, but I've been told, A Big legged woman ain't got no soul", so it would follow the same theme.

"Trampled Underfoot" lyrics are still mostly a mystery to me :)

And I have googled them, but I don't remember them when the song comes on.

OMG! You too??! :D Wow! And I really got a shock when I googled the lyrics for "Trampled Under Foot"...when I found that "voice" was "valves" all along! And when I thought the line was "baby, let me check your voice"...I used to picture Robert as this blond, sexy Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist!!
