Strider
^ So.....you like 'Titanic'? Billy Zane was fantastic in 'Dead Calm', his best IMO. Or maybe she just loves "Revolutionary Road"? She's young so she probably hasn't seen many movies yet. Poor Faye Dunaway...all those great roles in "Bonnie & Clyde", "Network", "Chinatown" and "The Thomas Crown Affair", and she's only remembered by kids today for "Mommie Dearest". I'm not a big movie buff by no means. I know what I like & I stick with it. Every once in awhile, something will strike my fancy but, not in a couple of years. I can't just watch anything. Strider
Moritz Bleibtreu Mads Mikkelsen Daniel Auteuil Zemun, the top one is familiar to me but not the middle actor...I'll have to investigate. Of course, the bottom one is LEGEND! Or at least, Daniel Auteuil should be. The 'Robert De Niro' of France. Janvier
Strider, he's best known for his role as a 007 villain (Le chiffre I believe, the only reason why I saw Casino Royale was him) but I prefer the films he has done in his native Denmark. I think "After the Wedding" by director Susanne Bier helped to boost his international profile. He's also done television shows like Unit One from Danish TV which is broadcast in Australia and has gained some popularity there. As for Daniel Auteuil I have all his films or so I believe. Moritz Bleibtreu may be best known for "Run Lola Run" but he also did the "Baader Meinhof Komplex". I Forgot also to mention Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes I'm a fan of their movies. From Denmark another rising star is Nikolaj Lie Kaas (who's only known outside of Denmark for a role in one of the Da Vinci code movies) and from the United States I like some movies with Joseph Gordon Levitt such as The Lookout. I realise his eyebrows give him the appearance of being 'feral', but I doubt his family would appreciate the name-change. By the way, after so many years of bad movies and indifferent performances, Colin Farrell has been very good recently..."In Bruges" was a stunner and he is very good in the very dark and funny "Seven Psycopaths", just released this past weekend. It is no coincidence that both films were written and directed by Martin McDonagh. RUN, don't walk, to see "Seven Psychopaths"...and if you still haven't seen "In Bruges", rent it or order it thru pay-per-view or Netflix or whatever. LedZeppfan77
I did a search and, to my surprise, didn't find a topic on this subject. So, who will you lay down your money to see in a theatre, on a download or make time to watch on your favorite movie channel everytime just because he or she are in the movie? For me, I enjoy actors who have diverse roles and who pick interesting scripts. So, for my money and time, I will watch a movie if Brad Pitt is in it. He has many different roles that he has played, with many different looks and there haven't been many bad scripts that I have seen him involved in. I have not seen all of his movies, but what I have seen, I generally enjoy. "Kalifornia", "Troy", "A River Runs Through It", "The Devil's Own" and "Inglourious Basterds" come to mind, but I know I am leaving out a bunch of great roles. So who is your favorite and why? Of course you will get your answer in lists. I cannot pick one actor and say thats my favorite. I could narrow it down to several. Pitt is not even on the charts for me. my list would have to include Pacino, Eastwood, De Niro, Bronson, McQueen, Vivian Leigh, Michelle Pfieffer, Ali MacGraw, Ingrid Bergman and on and on. And many I just cant bring to mind.
