Fingers crossed my mom will be coming home from the hospital tomorrow. She's tired of hospital food. LOL

My Mom did indeed come home from the hospital today. It wasn't because of the Big Nasty, thankfully. She's glad to be in more comfortable surroundings, eating food with more flavor. She said if she sees another plate or bowl of grits again in her natural life, she'll scream. LOL

I applied for Social Security today.  As my older brother once said, "I won the race!"  I made it 7 years with just my pension, so this will be play money.  Because I already have health care, my break-even point for taking it early is over 80.  I'll be dead or senile by then.  Lost two bosses to Covid at 68 & 72.  I also know so many people that paid in their whole life and never saw a dime from their pension or SS.  I am pleased.

I tried out my new Stihl Electric mower today. As it is an expensive as fuck bit of kit, I was quite nervous about how it would go on my uneven lawn. Turns out it KILLED it. Very happy with the bigger, quieter, push assist mower.

Even being interrupted by showers twice was no issue. Happy days, back yard looks magnificent.

I did some much-needed cleaning/reorganizing at home, and I'm happy with how it turned out. My sister bought me a planner for Christmas, and being able to write out the things I need to do every day definitely helps me stay on top of things better than I was managing before.

Had my lower wisdom teeth successfully removed on Tuesday.  They weren't impacted, which is why I still had them.  No problems, and I got 12 vicodin out of the deal.

Nice!!

It's f'ing FRIDAY!!!

Got down to 10% body fat, I have more muscle definition now then I did when I was 21. Brought in a new client for my business (I'm self-employed) and finally - have been getting all my sleep naturally for about a month now. The last one might not seem like a big deal, but I have been dealing with sleep issues for about a dozen years now. It was created from a combo of reasons (I essentially did it to myself), but after chipping away at it (doctors and "specialists" have been fucking useless), I finally cracked the code.

Getting all my sleep puts me in such a great mood and makes a huge difference in every part of my life.

10%, pfffft, that's nothing. This is a recent pic of me after this super-awesome diet with only 0% body fat:

I've heard of that diet! It's called the "no food" diet, right? Works great for a few days, but then your bench really suffers 😛

Good for you. I have always been lucky regarding sleep, no problem at all and can probably sleep standing up. However the wife does suffer from insomnia on occasion of which she partakes of the holy herb which always puts her out like a light. It is recreational where we live and she does not smoke on the regular, only when she has problems sleeping.

That's awesome that you fixed it. Melatonin is a Godsend for a lot of people, I tried it a few times when I first started having issues, and it either didn't work or I'd have crazy vivid dreams and wake up with my heart racing lol.

Hmm, that's odd.

Try a different brand, and add magnesium.

My brand is natrol. It's dissolvable under the tongue,  so works quicker.

Yeah, the one that gave me crazy dreams was the under the tongue kind. I take magnesium with calcium every night which works great. I have a whole thing going on with diet and minerals that work well for me.

More happiness: the gf is making vegan mini banana chocolate chip muffins, and I discovered some new music that I love (which sadly doesn't happen too often), Was listening to a college radio station, and they were playing something that sounded like Robert Pollard. It wasn't! It was this obscure band from 1970 called T2. Prog rock. They made only one album, and it's killer I like some prog but am not any kind of prog nut But this is really good stuff. Sounds a bit like The Who meets King Crimson (which is probably why I thought it was Pollard lol),

Oh, I thought you had insomnia atm.

I wonder why you got the side effect?

No, I had insomnia for many years, basically since 2008 or so. I recently cracked the code and have been getting 7-8 hrs sleep every night naturally for a month or so. That's what I was happy about lol.

Apparently, melatonin gives lots of people either nightmares or crazy vivid dreams. I've had both using it. Some of the dreams were actually pretty cool. I thought about continuing the hunt for the perfect brand when I was experimenting with it back in 2009 but just gave up on it. I also read that if you take it every day, your brain stops making it so then you're hooked on it for life. So, that kinda scared me off it. But it's pretty cheap and works great for lots of people!
