MightyZep Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Hi I have a kind of stupid question, but I am wandering if anybody will have an answer. I have a bit of OCD, as we all tend to have traces now and then. Anyway, I came across several pictures of Robert like I have before, being a Zeppelin fan. Nothing really, they were all from different eras: some from the early 70's all the way to current day. But as I was looking I noticed that his eye color sometimes was blue, and then other times it was dark brown. I know that's pretty odd to pick up on, but... It struck me as weird. So I started scanning through other pics, magazines, my Zep DVD's, and found the same results: sometimes his eyes were blue and sometimes brown. Maybe I am crazy, or maybe he is just wearing colored contact lenses sometimes. I tried to blow it off, but the OCD thing kicked in and now for some reason it is bothering the hell out of me. Anyone noticed this, or have an answer? Quote
Hotplant Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Actually I have noticed that too. I believe BLUE. Quote
zoso13zeppelin Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 i'd say blue. of course, i havent noticed any pics with brown eyes, so id say blue. (sorry, more of a jimmy fan than robert ) Quote
LadyRaven Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I always wonder the same with Jimmy- the colour lenses. Sometimes his eyes look very dark brown, green or grey. Quote

Maddy Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I always wonder the same with Jimmy- the colour lenses. Sometimes his eyes look very dark brown, green or grey. So I'm not the only one who can't quite go figure what color Jimmy's eyes are? I've seen some pictures where Robert's eyes look quite dark, but I think it's the light. Quote
Aquamarine Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Robert's eyes are bright blue. I've looked into them . . . Quote
redeyedrichard Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 For arguments sakes I will say BRUE....A new colour which is a mix of the two. That way everyone is happy. No, only joking. I can't say I look into Mr Plant's eyes all that often! Quote
brspled Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Robert's eyes are bright blue. I've looked into them . . . I HATE SHOWOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
noora Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Robert's eyes are bright blue. I've looked into them . . . WHAT? You have? Why? How? WHEN? Quote
MightyZep Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 For an example of the "eye changing color" of Robert watch Zep DVD 1 from Royal Albert Hall. Robert's eyes are the BLUE, like sea blue. But then, watch The Old Grey Whistle Test on DVD 2 and his eyes are DARK brown. What the..? I still don't get it. Whoever called his eye color "BRUE" was on to something, I think. Quote

That's Richard Yes, it's the same thing with Jimmy. I always thought Jimmy's eyes were green and they look green in many pics but then there's pics where they look brown. Quote
TheBulle Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I noticed that too...I guess it depends on the lighting etc. But his eyes are blue! I had all the time in the world to look at them when I had a chat with him!!! Quote
Aquamarine Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I was lucky enough to have a chat with him too--and to be close enough to the stage on a couple of previous occasions to be able to identify the color of his eyes. Whatever color they might come out in pics, they're definitely bright blue in person--one reason I prefer this scale of gig. (Sorry, brspled, I won't mention it again. ) Quote

Bilbo the Rover Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I have a book at home with that has a reprint of an article about one of Robert's early bands. It gives the "stats" of each member and lists Robert's eyes as being "brown". So this cause for confusion must go back some time...although he does have blue eyes. Quote
Hotplant Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 When I looked into his eyes they WERE Blue. Some pics just look weird. Quote
Horrorshow_Plant Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a MAJOR Robette, and even I was confused! Quote
ninelives Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Robert's eyes are bright blue. I've looked into them . . . I am not green with envy, not at all Quote
deny_rock Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I swear that I saw a black and white photo where he had grey eyes!! Look.. haha LOL! Just joking >>Ny<< Quote
SteveAJones Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I swear that I saw a black and white photo where he had grey eyes!! Look.. That's an early photo of the American actor Gene Wilder Quote
PlantOneOnMe Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I guess most photos of Robert weren't printed on genuine Kodak photo paper!? Seriously, I don't know of too many photos that capture true colors. Eyes can change color anyway, depending on the light. I know alot of people who have bright blue eyes, espeically in the sunshine, but they change color and appear dark while under artifical light and indoors, etc. Quote
maven2blue Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 That's an early photo of the American actor Gene Wilder No, no, no, Its an early photo of British actor Marty Feldman. Quote
