Bustle In My Hedgerow
It's going to take the Dems a lot more than winning an election to redeem themselves. Only time will tell. Well, at this point, they've got at least one redeeming quality: kept Bush from keeping office for a third term.
Pb Derigable
I didn't vote for that pile of shit either. Happy Trails, loser. Now fuck off. Wow your the exact reason why only 22% of the people claim there liberals while 36% claim their conservatives. Still, If i remember correctly, all of the obama supporters say that this is a victory for America. It looks like were in for 4 more years of more of the same failed Jimmy Carter liberal ideas. Im happy for you bile, you may not ever have to carry burden of personal responsibility ever again.
bigstickbonzo
Bush protected this country since 9/11, something, even Biden admits, Obama can't do. Jesus Christ you're fucking worthless. Bush hasn't protected shit. Those bastards could hit us anytime they want. We've had successful busts in stopping some planned attacks, but don't fool yourself or try to persuade others to buy into that bogus theory. Bin Laden is a well educated man and awfully intelligent. Did it ever occur to you maybe there wasn't a good reason to attack us again under Bush because they'd already proven they could. Why do it to the same guy when you can just bomb a different President every 4 or 8 years. That's a better tactic IMO. Keeps the fear alive and shows the American public no man in office will keep them safe.

bigstickbonzo
Whereas the GW conservative ones served us so well? Now, now. Bush may have been a fake Republican (Republicans don't even know what the word means), but he was certainly very liberal in many fields. I think that was the genius to his frustration. He was conservative on all the big issues, but spent money like a fucking Nantucket sailor. Edited November 6, 2008 by bigstickbonzo
Rock Action
Now, now. Bush may have been a fake Republican (Republicans don't even know what the word means), but he was certainly very liberal in many fields. I think that was the genius to his frustration. He was conservative on all the big issues, but spent money like a fucking Nantucket sailor. Bush was a slap in the face to conservatives. Which is why we're now stuck with Obama. Heaven help us if he's another Jimmy Carter, the only president in my adult lifetime even worse than Bush.
shnflacwav
But you did vote for the one who shits in a pile?.. in his diapers? Good riddance, Bush.. I was flabbergasted when hey won re-election, but Kerry didn't promise much either. Dems dropped the ball four years ago.. nice to see they've redeemed themselves this time around. How has he redeemed himself? He hasn't even started yet.

He kept Bush out of office for a third term by beating McCain, didn't he? If that's not enough, he kept Palin out. That deserves some kind of recognition.... Obama would still be in Chicago, probably putting together youth rallies in the inner city if Bush hadn't turned out to be such a fuck up. ninelives
Hi Rorer Hopefully firstledzep is going with Palin as he thinks shes so hot. This has been a hell of a day for the USA and as a definite outsider I congratulate the American voters for their turning out and for bringing in change regardless of whether Obama is black or not. If he turns out to be the confident assertive leader he says he can be then it will be good for America. For me and I think others around the world America needs this change, it needs to reassert itself globally, to be able to look outside of itself and recognise that the rest of the world has valid views and politics that can be worked with, nurtured and supported. Not ridden roughshod over or ignored. A confident America, an assertive not aggressive America is better for the world. I truly hope that Obama can bring that. As for your internal politics it still remains a bit of a mystery at times and I wonder how the Republicans are going to recover and reinvent themselves so that they too are in tune with the whole of America. I guess there will be a lot of in fighting as politicians do when they lose an election. Importantly where is their Obama going to come from, who will lead them to push Obama in 4-5 years time? Palin does not seem to me to be the future of the Republican party so who will come out of the shadows to lead them now? McCain did his best but he was on a hiding to nothing given Bush's administration, the credit crunch and his poor international politics. he deserves to rest. I was impresed by his speech after his defeat, humble and gracious ( unusual in politics) and even GWB's speech seemed genuine in refelcting the momentous decision you have made over there. A pity politicians can't be like that more often, they are no different here in the UK. So I hope Obama recognises that people will want instant results once he takes office and people's patience canbe very thin when wanting instant change and it won't take too long for the grumbles to set in even from those who voted for the first time, who switched allegience from the republicans to the democrats and perhaps especially the black Americans who may want even more from him. We shall see but here's hoping he turns out to be a great president, a great leader and a great international statesman. Just a Brits view point And a fine Brit's point of view indeed Twas a good day in our country. I noticed a sense of hope and optimism that I think has been missing a long time. Obama has a great challenge ahead. It won't be fixed overnight but I see possibility for a brighter future. January 20th can't happen soon enough
ZeppFanForever
GET THE FUCK OUTTA THE WHITE HOUSE AND DON'T EVER SET FOOT IN D.C AGAIN!!!!! Fucking idiot. And thanks for 8 years of HELL. (ahhhh, that felt good. ) You can all join in.... How's it going "Rock Action?" I wish that I could be mad at you but I can't disagree with you on this one. Lets face it, BUSH DID NOT WIN THE ELECTION FAIRLY IN 2000! In my opinion, Bush should have lost. But thanks to FLORIDA Governor Jeb Bush, Bush's own brother, Florida f*c*ed up in counting up all of the votes. FLORIDA AND JEB BUSH DIDN'T HAVE TO MAKE IT SO OBVIOUS! ROCK ON! Electrophile
Florida was 2000. Ohio was 2004. Thank God Obama won both this year without a problem.

IIRC, in the 2004 election, it was about 24 hours later that all the Bush supporters started fussing and sneering that the rest of us should quit whining. Or, as srplane kept saying about the choice of Palin as McCain's VP several weeks ago... JUST ACCEPT IT!!
